4.09 / 5.00 12,195 Viewsim not gonna be peachy as an anime-based artist myself. its crap, and im not saying this just to put you down. the fact and the reason why alot of anime artists, illustrators or animators, get frustrated is because you HAVE to get every detail of anatomical proportions as EXACT AS (humanly) POSSIBLE.
dont get me wrong, i kinda like moosh's style, but his style wouldnt even be considered if he was going for industry, there you HAVE TO know everything about anatomy unless your drawing chibi or are doing tween animation.
try using this tutorial
tell me how you do with this, you might want to enlarge to picture as well
any form of support will be greatly appreciated.
ill PM you my aim.
and then probably there we'll go over characters
PS: this is anime-based, in case you have a pet peeve.

I'm sure the discussions have been made before, but the movie could be discussed for several days on it's own. So, anyone else want to revive this club with me?
sure, btw im making a fan-made series based on SH's backstory, so if anyway wants to tag along that would be great

Oh and BTW Silent Hill is actually proven to be scarier than Res-Evil. Burn all of you (resident) evil freaky people!Of course Silent Hill is scarier than Resident Evil. The only scariness in RE is just making you jump, that's really it. Silent Hill don't have a lot of making you jump moments and it's how things look that make the series very scary.
I beg to differ, I think 2 was the best out of the entire series, because 2 had the best extensive story throughout, since 1. 3 didnt have a complete-feeling storyline, and 4 didnt really fulfill the SH fans expectations, probably except yours.
Silent Hill isnt all about being scary... so being scarier, or more disturbing than games such as Resident Evil doesnt really express what kind of game it is. But its definitely more dramatic, which makes its main story so good, and successful.
i dont mean to be a dick but shouldnt her hair be blue?
um nairo, may i ask which style youd classify your art as? anime-based or no? theres been alot of argument of what makes an art anime-based.
i see... thanks for the heads up

And another thing: How can make stuff persistent for the new frame? Like ground or background appearing on the next frame? That I dont have to put it back there everytime?
thats... uh... wow
Here are some facts about this project:
This will be leaning on the anime side, so leave if any anime/anime-influenced style pisses you off.
It will be long term
A deadline isnt expected for a long time
This is based more on the movie than the game
the story's rather remotely related to help preserve the original Silent hill concept regardless of this being beneficial or harmful.
For now, this may be the first project Ill be able to complete. I have the story's outline done, at least for the first installment. Any silent hill movie fan/anime artist are more than welcome to contribute in any way. If you happen to be both you will be needed lol. For the first month or month and a half we'll just get to settle in on this, get acquainted, and learn about each other's styles, techniques(art and animation). then after that i guess we can start on it, gradually.
I doubt ill be checking up on this thread, so sending me a PM to ask me about more would be best. Also tell me about yourself, mainly on how YOU learned about Silent Hill, think about the story, and your take on an anime silent hill-related fan work.
God Bless.

wow, it must mean alot if u say it like that. ill keep the school in mind!
just went to a College Fair today
they said that they dont teach flash, as well as other institutes. One college taught Maya. What 2d animation programs do colleges like DigiPen teach then? Opinions and advice are more than welcome.
lets say that you have special font packs, and used it to create a movie
your going to play that movie on another computer, the swf file. which in such case, the computer may not have the necessary font packs? it doesnt matter right? or will it come out funny?
im gonna go ahead and be a elitist jerk say
1) omg another narutard
2) wheres the color
3) theres something called photoshop and flash
4) a child couldve drawn something like this in kindergarten
5) im being a jerk arent i?
wow, thanks alot, i learned something new today
ok there was a problem in my new project that involved this, and i opened another file to test out this problem:
on frame 1 of layer 1 of my fresh file:
if (Key.isDown(65)) {
trace("You Pressed A")
{
but when i tested the movie, and pressed A, nothing happened. (my project needed this to go to a certain frame, but didnt respond neither)
PS: im using a flash CS3 Pro
what could i be doing wrong?
i can draw some decent anime. but thats not the point. sometimes my figures just dont seem to look consistent in proportion, does anyone know a site or source that has many rules to proportions? i simply need to know what to follow to keep my drawings in good shape.
Simply put: Need some rules and guidelines to watch out for while im drawing.
just a sketch i recently drew, probably because the rules want it

i closed it for a couple hours, reopened it to finish it up, but the layers are all so wacky... need some time to collect myself.
oh yeah, always open for comments.
im not a one line drawer, i use... as you call it "scratching". using little lines to draw out stuff. so it wont smooth out altogether. thats what im saying
whenever i draw flash, i have some rough edges around my drawings because my draw them that way. however my coach, a fellow animator/artist, told me about illustrator, and how it can smooth out the edges because it works with vector art. i got it but it may take some time to learn how to use it. do you think illustrator is worth using in addition to flash in animation?
black lagoon is one of those animes that nothing can touch
damn you ani-x and all your skills
