Great stuff, man!
But I would recommend posting in the Audio Portal here, to get a bit of a fanbase. Get a user photo, the likes. Until you make your profile look presentable and have on-site examples readily available, you're a lot less likely to get work.

Response to: Futurama Cancelled? Noooo! Posted April 23rd, 2013 in General

Assuming Futurama does not find a new home, consider that this leaves an open space for Matt Groening to make a new cartoon, as well as a huge hole for Billy West and John DiMaggio (less so here, of course, due to Adventure Time).

Inevitably, something new is going to come up, and I'm excited to see what that might be.

So early this morning, as I was painting my toilet with the delicate brush of stomach acids, I decided I'd use the time I'd have on my sick day to audition for a voice acting role.

Thing is, the audition was pretty dang complex - so I needed to use 12+ voices. Since it was so full, I figured I'd post it on Newgrounds!

I'd really like to hear what you guys have to say about it. I'm always hoping to improve. :]
Thanks a load!

Written by men yes.

What do you mean about Paul in this regard? Like the Bible is ineffective as our time goes on? Because Paul can't make up his mind or something to help the new generation?

I'm confused xD

What I meant is that as he went through his life, he changed his opinions. At one time he didn't believe women were meant to teach, or even had a place in important discussions.
Later on, though, he befriended a woman who gave her life to preaching. His mind changed.

He was a smart and influential man, but not at all a figure of absolute truth.

My father is a pastor, so I was raised Nazerene/Methodist (Same doctrine, but one is liberal and the other conservative).
Personally, I no longer practice. Primarily due to a near inability to commit myself to faith. I will never discount the possibility of deity, but I can't convince myself that it is definitely true without irrefutable proof.

So this issue is that merchandise takes up excessive office space and staff, making it too much of a hassle to be profitable?

New merchandise?! Posted April 22nd, 2013 in General

I have been checking the NG Store regularly for a long time now, and I've been continually disappointed by the lack of updated merchandise. In addition, half of the shirts still on the market are either discontinued or only exist in uncommon sizes.

If there's one website I'd like to support, it's this one. Newgrounds has been my home since '04, and I want to help it continue to flourish.

Is there anything we can do to jump-start some new merch?

New merchandise?!

I'm probably going to regret this.
Oh well!
I'd like some reviews on my vocal Demo Reel. It's nothing special, since I didn't really handpick everything too well, nor did I fit a track to each voice, but I'd mostly like critiques on the voices themselves.
Thanks a load in advance!

Response to: Jam Concept - Animate a Web Comic Posted September 22nd, 2012 in Animation

This would definitely take a lot of people out of their comfort zones - even voice actors. I usually prefer to write the things I voice act for, since I can create the character and his voice from my own mind. Trying to come up with a voice that embodies someone else's creation will be very difficult.

That said, it's an excellent idea. It forces us to really work at what we're doing. I think it'll help a lot of people grow as animators and voice actors or whatever else. I like the idea, and I hope to set up a team.

Message me if you're interested.

Response to: PLAY THESE GAMES Posted July 2nd, 2012 in NG News

I personally had a ton of fun working on my games this weekend.
I was part of three, but sadly only one made it through.
Luckily, that one is currently doing very well. :]

But I can agree on the harshness on the ratings. I mean, here I am with absolutely certainty that my game is at least a 4.95, and we don't even have a 4.00!

How rude.

Haha, valid point. I'm thinking my team maaayyy place top three as well, so I'd be interested to know.

Both Tom and Austin alluded to there being prizes, so I'm assuming it's the same as always.

I think winner gets $300 or so?

I don't recall the other prizes, though I think the top three teams all get something. I could be mistaken.

for the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to play your game :/

sorry! I'm probably just being an idiot.

Eeeeeveryone is having that problem, don't worry.

The issue is that you have to click the correct tool, then after you click in the proper white area, you have to WAIT there until it eventually registers. It's very confusing, because we're used to an immediate reaction.

This is going to hurt the game a lot. I really liked the art and concept, but... Well, you're going to get a number of 0's from ragers.

Response to: Game Jam 7: Progress Posted July 1st, 2012 in Game Development

The worst, and yet most consistent part of the game jams is seeing countless teams run out of time too soon. And often times, these are some of the most talented folk!

All of you have done incredibly well, regardless, and this will serve you in one way or another. :]

My first team has a working game - though it's not the most aesthetically pleasing thing on the planet - with full musical composition and voice acting.

The second team is struggling to get things together, but I really think they'll pull through with a great game. I haven't seen a sample of the programming yet, though, so I dunno how buggy this one will be.

Altogether, I'm happy with this weekend. I feel accomplished.

Great work, everyone. :]

My team's coming along decently. Most of the programming, save for audio and cutscene programming, is complete, with a so-far perfect engine. The main character and basic enemy are done, as well as ladders and doors. Otherwise, I dunno where my artists are at.

I've nearly completed all of my voice acting, though, and I've written everything down to a T. I wrote an entire script, the level progression and concept of the game, and the general ideas for each level's art.

My voices are nothing special, though. Here's a clip of two thugs.

My team-mates went to sleep. I'm thinking we might need to change the color scheme, the bright green is too much I think. What do you guys think?

The black and white is actually really good in itself. You could always go for a natural look, though, and make everything a pale version of its given color. It'll add enough character to look finished, but refrain from flashing at you.
