That's because Microsoft and Sony hardly ever make games, just systems. Most of the time anything else is 2nd party. Quick, besides God of War and Halo, name some great 1st party games on either system. It's not rhetorical, I'd like to know. I'm not saying they aren't there, I'm just saying there aren't that many.

Microsoft: Halo, Fable, Jawbreaker, Shadowrun, Crackdown, Viva Piniata, Mechwarriror, Banjo Kazooie, Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, (they own Rare so all of Rare's projects are first party)

Sony's got even more: inFamous, Sly Cooper, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone, Socom, MAG, Littlebigplanet, Ico (series), Modnation racers, MLB the show, God Of War, Gran Turismo, Jak & Daxter, Warhawk, Syphon filter, Uncharted Motor Storm Demon's Souls, Patapon, LoccoRocco, Siren, Ape Escape Twisted Metal.
Yeah Not that many compared to Nintendo's
Mario games, Legend of Zelda games, Kirby games, Wario games, Starfox games, Metroid Games, And Wii Minigame collections.
None of which are bad from Nintendo By the Way Just throwing it out there that sony's got a great (and in my opinion the best) First Party. I never really noticed Microsoft's insubstantial first-party.

Gotta Give it to Resistance Fall of Man. Halo: CE's great too.

fine let me rephrase that then: they aren't shortened for convenience the same way. God Of War came first it gets the GoW acronym. Gears came second it doesn't.

Technically you never actually 'own' a game, regardless of whether you buy the game boxed or not. All you purchase is the license to play said game, and the publishers charge you through the nose for the boxed version to cover the cost of advertising, distribution, and manufacturing for the discs and those pretty coloured instruction manuals you love so much.

That was a very dumb thing to say, I bought a copy God Of War 3, I now OWN God Of War 3 and it is mine to do with what I will and Sony cannot take it back without stealing it from me, they may be able to deactivate my online ID but I can still play offline why you may ask? because I OWN God Of War 3.

Seriously no one's said Insomniac games yet, they are awesome and rated THE #1 one work place in all of California and in the Top 20 or so in all of America, plus their games Rock, and they listen to their community.

Its gonna suck, there is no hope for this game. Those of you who think Sonic should still exist forget this ever happened and go back to waiting for Sonic 4.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance and Soul Reaver 2, while not exclusive are great games, plus the ooriginal 2 GoWs, Tekken Tag, Tekken 4, Tekken 5. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.

Fucking great game, me and my friend still go Co-Op some weekends when we've got nothing to do. Without co-op its an average game, but with the co-op that game is fantastic.

Celebrate, those franchises (with exception of Street Fighter) have gone on far too long, and are all just reboots basically, not much new or original in character development hell, Link and Mario are for the most part the same characters they were from the NES era.

None of this changes the fact that the PC gaming market is on the decline.

Isn't that trolling though, if you just posted and didn't say anything?
