Can you do something not referenced or based off of a preexisting entity so that we can see what you can do on your own and tell you how to improve on that as opposed to how to make your drawings look more like what you base them off of.

Even though I doubt I have anything new to say but I'll through my two cents in anyway.

The Scouting system makes it so that as I'm looking through the art of Newgrounds I see the good stuff not the tons of Sonic Fanart the internet has to offer (ha). All you have to do to get into the portal is improve your drawing skills and draw original stuff. plain and simple. If you have concerns about people not seeing your work make a personal thread here in the forums where many of us regulars will pop in from time to time and give you constructive critiques and whatnots (provided you are willing to listen to or critiques and whatnots). Eventually you'll make it to the portal. Also I would STRONGLY recommend ceasing in your Sonic drawings. Sonic will get you nowhere; take his own existence as an example.

1. Post your drawings in the thread
2. Don't ask to be scouted
3. after looking at your page your drawings look to be filtered pics with some scratchy coloring with the exception of a few that are just scratchy drawings.
Just observations if you want me to give you more constructive criticism post drawings in thread.

perhaps, although I think he just did it because the dot for the i could be a monocle. but if it were done on purpose I would make it more noticeable, like make it Sir F. Boards. otherwise people just see sirfboards and think what does a fancy hat man have to do with misspelled surfing.

I would keep this out of a portfolio, logos generally need to make sense and be instantly recognizable this one makes no sense. Fancy hat man and sIrfboard more thought should be put into a logo

If it doesn't interest you, you can just not post, I don't think we have to slander every single person that comes here asking for art with little or no pay, do we...? Some people will be willing to do it to add to their portfolio, which I think is fine :D
This seems a bit over-the-top. Just my opinion, sorry if I offended anyone :x

I'm gonna have to agree with you, I'm sure anyone who would be good enough to consider doing this rather large project knows the payment isn't exactly professional pay, and if they don't your "fuck you pay me thread is pretty recent and I'm sure they've all seen it, so no need to point out the obvious really.

Great, you can select a brush and wave the mouse around on the screen. I'm fine with those stock brushes personally as long they're used sparingly and not the focus of a picture. In this picture though they're all that's there.

So After careful consideration I have decided to redo this drawing in a better more structured manner. It will still keep the basics but will look better as far as sense of depth and size of the ships in relation to each other

Here's the grim reaper, no background seeing as how I've put enough of my life into this drawing and am sick of it. wing(s) are a little rushed would have liked to do more but again this drawing had a deadline so next time maybe.
