Alright, sorry I haven't been on this but I've been a little busy. I'm just going to make this "Jack's Summer whore thread. So If you haven't asked me to draw something and want me to draw something feel free to ask. I still reserve the right to not draw something obviously. I'm not going to do any redraws of your characters at all, and it is very unlikely that I'll draw any other established characters like batman or some shit. .
Here are some WIPS of the shit you guys asked for, Forgot to put nuclear warfare's I'll do it though.
I'll probably finish them sometime within the weekend.

The nose appears to be curved because of the the shading on the right side, I'd say to fix that shade the right side further in than it currently is. The head warps at the top on the left side passed the bandana. The shading on the top of the right eye seems a bit inconsistent with the rest of the shading same with the top lip except the left looks a bit too dark on the left side. The jaw line looks uneven, the left side is higher than the right.
The bandanna looks very nice, I'll give you that. I like the overall style of the face. These issues for the most part are small but they stand out more because all that it is is a floating head. I would recommend that you give him a body and background.
Also on a side note try to avoid using lined paper it takes away from the overall quality.

Response to: What is the Definition of Art? Posted June 10th, 2012 in Art

Q: When did you first become introduced to art and in what form?

My family has always been into Superheroes, so constantly being around action figures and comic books it was only nature that I'd draw my own as a little kid. As I got older I kept drawing and kept getting better.

Q: What first inspired you to create art?

Superheroes were definitely one of my greatest inspirations though my sister also taught me how to draw and kept me at it.

Q: What is in your opinion, the definition of art?

Art, in the general sense, is (to me) pretty much anything that a person consciously creates with the intent of entertaining, impressing and/or invoking thought in a person. Though my definition of what good art is is much less open.

Q: When it comes to your art, where do you begin? How does the creative process start and when does the creation become finished?

It depends, most of the time I start with a rough sketch on a Post-it note of what I want, then I draw it on bigger paper in pencil. If I'm going to ink and color it i lay out all of the colors then go over the lines with ink.
Other times I just start to doodle then I like the way it looks and keep going as is the case with my recent "Blue Girl" drawing. I tend to like ones like these more than my planned ones.

Q: Is there any other artist or person you look to as a guide or mentor?

Most notably my sister. She's taught me a lot about drawing and is the reason that I am still drawing today.

There was a palm tree in the original sketch, I'll probably replace the corner leaves with one.

Not familiar with the original but that's pretty good, could be better if you went over it with pen and maybe added some colors or a background even.
