Kraig and Sucho and Rob and MindChamber and other good artists seem to not use as many strokes as I usually do and as other people usually do. It's not so much colouring the picture but placing coloured strokes in a specific order to achieve a certain effect.
I dont see how rob fits in that list. but I agree with you. I think however, that you need to be able to draw with lots of strokes before you start bringing it back. At least thats what Im working on.

I like the art style from what you've shown, nice gothic cartoon style... I may check it out.
Yeah the whole thing has a bit of a burtonesque vibe over it; although the first half of the game is not dark at all.
What's the gameplay like?
Bit difficult to explain; it`s a bit like the first harry potter game... 3d platformer where you have to use mental powers (youre a psychic) to defeat enemies/open doors etc.
Conceptwise its pretty cool. As I said youre a psychic; but half the game takes place in the "real world" and half inside other poeples brains, which are like dreamworlds.
Some of you that frequent the stickams may have noticed; but I have been a bit absent the past 2 days.
The reason is "Psychonauts". Most of you probably havent heard about it; its appears on dozens of "best games noone played"-lists. Still, it has a metacritic score of 88.
It has to be one of the most fun games Ive ever played; but artwise it is definitely THE no.1 game I ever played/saw. Its just terrifically beatifull. The art alone makes this game worth checking out.

Just running it through quality control before releasing png file ...
lol ashcloud; Id like you to make the edges of the vulcano a bit sharper. add some overall sharpness on selected areas actually.
If you want to do linework; quick aimed strokes is the way to go. Scribbling is not gonna give you nice linework in ps.
I recommend first scetching out your drawing (which can be scribbly) and then "inking" it.
If you want to do something more scribbly maybe try setting your brush to opacity control instead of size.

I have a very basic coding/programming knowledge; but on a simple browsing through, that doesnt seem to involve any complicated coding. Its mostly just pictures and simple buttons.
welcome back btw ;)

So, I'm currently a sophmore in high school, yes mock my smallness, whatever.
Anyways, I have 2 years left of high school and then hopefully college.
What I want to do with my life as of yet is to be a graphic designer/web designer.
Now I can get my way around photoshop and stuff, I'm not a terrible artist, but I'm not amazing either. The place where I'm lacking is coding. I don't know any scripting languages..
It seems to me you are looking for two different jobs. In reality, companies have a marketing and an IT department; these departments cooperate to make a website (usually IT is instrumental to Marketing, but its getting more and more involved). Anyhow; marketing poeple worry about how it looks, IT poeple worry about how it works. You need to figure out what you want to do.
Of coures; having a bit of background knowledge about the other side is always helpfull.
One person said that degrees in graphic design are a dime a dozen, but I read articles saying that they're on an average demand rise.
I wouldnt worry about that for one thing. If I have learned anything over the last few years, it is that you should not pick a study because of the availability of jobs.
I was just wondering whether I still have time to learn enough... The colleges say that I don't have to know it, they'll teach me, but how good am I gonna come out if I only come in as a n00b?
You do; but you need to focus. Decide what you want to learn; do you want to code ar design? Start practicing that.
please note that im no expert; this is just what I have learned from my study and various guest lectures etc.

I sincerely hope you do make another contribution, cause as I said; I love your work.

welcome; My main point of attention here would be the shading; it is very good at some points (e.g. lips) but not so good at others (ears). Id suggest you use some more contrast/darker shades around the eyes; and add shading to the ears in general; otherwise its very cool.
Perhaps make the outline of the head blend with the actual face a bit more.

Id like to stress that he is not saying this because one thing is better than the other. He is being "difficult" about this because this is the art forum, and the art forum has its own rules on what should (not) be here. Dancing is a form of art too; but that isnt allowed in the art forum either.
