Doesnt really have to be a flaw though; I hardly ever put any detail in my backgrounds; and neither do Jagondudo and tmkunt, to name a few. You just have to find a way to make them apt without being complicated. A textured gradient or something can often do the trick pretty well.
A good way to use simple backgrounds is to show light; if you have the lightsource on your object top right, you could make the background a gradient from light to dark top right to bottom left.

Thats the point Ben, and less explicitly Kraig, were trying to make (I think). Being a serious poster doesnt mean no jokes, and it doesnt mean not getting upset about someone stealing art. You can make jokes, but jokes dont necessarily have to be at someones expense.
Joe has been showing me some drawchan (4chan art forum) threads and what Ive seen from that I dont blame him for going there rather than here. They dont seem to have as tight a community as we have here, but even when they bash on someone, they do it with a picture. Its way more art focused than this place is at the moment.
As for the banning thing, I dont see whats wrong with that; as I see it, this issue has been brought up many times before, if poeple dont listen, ban them. Thats what the button is for.
I know I am hereby backseat modding, and therefore soliciting for a ban. Which is a good thing, cause it makes my argument more objective.

I like the lighting better on the first one, and it seems a bit sharper, which is a big deal for me. as it is atm I would choose for the first one; however, if you were to unblur the second one, and restore the highlights on the pigs head, that would be cooler.
