are you planning of making this into a flash or is it just a collab in the sense that you use someone elses suggestions (through the egg)

As fifty-50 said, your not so bad. Still; it would be cool if you tried to be a bit more relaxed about everything. Not every post you make has to be witty or funny, not everything has to replied to, one bad picture doesnt make a collab fail. What im trying to say is; try to be less all over the place and nowhere. if you catch my drift.

Nice work re2deemer; youve really improved a lot over the past few months.

Thank you for taking the time to describe the thought process behind it.
I really like to get into the brain behind the art.

your welcome, sharing these things also helps me get an insight in my own creative processes, since its mostly a subconcious process.

Appreciate that.

Your stuff just amazes me.
In some cases it's the art itself...the way it might be colored, shaded or composed...but in the case of this horse...it's more just the idea behind it that blows me away. Like...what the hell were you thinking at the moment you decided to make a horse out of a box, (or vice-versa)?
NO ONE DOES THAT! And yet...it's fantastic. And not in some hipster, fuck the establishment type way...where just BECAUSE it's weird, it's cool. No...this is obviously the product of a dangerously creative psyche...and it's just one, tiny facet of your artistic personality, judging from all of your other incredible work. Your talent is nothing short of pure brilliance...so thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

Wow, thanks a lot man. Its really great to know poeple are liking what I do.
As for the horse; its a giraffe ;)
The making it out of a box thing was just something that came to me randomly, call it inspiration. I started this one out with a pretty much predetermined idea of how I wanted it to look. I got it in my head that I wanted to print a poster, then the general idea of having a wide border around the poster popped up; and I liked it. From that; the idea of having something pushed into a square came up quite quickly, the giraffe was an easy choice because they seem to be too big to begin with. If you watch a giraffe drink; its hard to believe that it is an actual animal that evolved that way.

At 6/11/10 07:14 PM, Sockembop wrote: Wow, great job man. It wonderfully weird and crazy. And kind of beautiful actually. This would make a great print.

Thanks, Ive been trying to make my art more "out there", less straightforward. Its good to see that working out. I actually drew that one because I wanted something I could print; I drew it on an especially large canvas, and even googled some available poster formats, especially for that.

At 6/12/10 08:00 AM, Lundsfryd wrote: That's a pretty rad idea.. I think the front left leg could use a bit of refineing but it a cool picture that's for sure..

Thanks man, with the front left leg do you mean the one on the left for us; or the giraffes left front leg? I personally think both could use some refining.

You are totally right; this is one of the weak points of the art forum; after a while poeple will just take your art for granted, and not comment on it anymore. I guess it has to do with the relative small size of the community we have here. anyways; dont let it bring you down; cause even if poeple dont reply; it doesnt mean they dont like your art.

From the Harry Potter series: Oh man big tournament at my school this year!! PSYCHED! I hope nobody dies this year, and every year as if by clockwork.

In photoshop; you can click "save as" then select .jpeg (and type a name)
a dialog window pops up that allows you to change the quality of the exported jpeg; Im not exactly sure what this does; but it works. Lower quality gives lower filesize (which is indicated in the window btw.) In my experience the actual size tends to be a bit below the size ps indicates; but I guess that depends on the drawing and perhaps on your operating system.

exactly, a maximum of one personal showcase thread per user has been set, so as to decrease clutter.

So.....jus 4 future reference..how do I change the thread name?? XD

You cant, but maybe if you ask a mod nicely they will allow you to have this one deleted and create a new one with a different title.

I think it only is really bad to the forum if dont handle it correctly; if we can politely tell poeple that they need to work on their pieces, a lot of them will go away, and maybe one out of ten will stay and become a fine member of society... I dont think that would be a bad thing to the forum.

Canvas size rape refers more to what you do with your canvas; sometime it can be good (compositionwise) to have some negative space around your subject; however, it should be instrumental, so not something like this.
