What is this?
It seems to have split up into two organisms!
OH the wonders of nature! What will happen now? How will these two evolve?
From now on, we have two branches. You can now evolve either one of these little guys, specify which one you will do. Old rules apply for each separate branch.
This was Nae and Kraig`s idea, dont just go off splitting everything up on your own account now, first contact either one of them.

all their heads seem a bit small, and the poster in general could use more definition everywhere. Sometimes it can help to just keep your soft base and add some strong lines to that.

Yes thanks for the review. I feel that this flood is perhaps in output a bit disappointing, but I did get 6 reviews against 3 last time, so its a succes allright!

But yeah, the same goes for ash, well done man, after your months of non-artiness.

I dont think this is really the case. What made the various weeklys less interesting to me is the other competitors; It would like it if id be competing agains poeple of roughly my skilllevel rather than just the giants like jagondudo or those that are (with all respect) not very good. Additionaly, when less poeple join, I feel less inclined to join; which makes other poeple feel less inclined to join.
Anyways; If you think a certain weekly should be/could be started up again contact a/the previous host. You will need a certain amount of skill and dedication if you want to host them yourselves, otherwise your best bet is to stimulate someone else to do so.

My question is how a tablet laptop would work with art programs, or if there a tablet laptop specifically made for art.
If you want to make art you have to keep in mind that a lot of art programs are very cpu intensive; especially when you are dealing with large canvas (say if you want to make an A3 sized print at 300 dpi). I personally couldnt compete in the larry poster contest, just because my laptop couldnt handle the size. I am on a dual core 2*2gig processor so to be frank photoshop can only really use one of those cores. Anyways, thats something you will have to pay attention to. Otherwise I have no experience with tablet laptops or the alienware you mentioned.

Its already looking a lot better than it used to. You are going to want to eventually make the shapes a bit smoother, nice rounded shapes.

OOoh, likey. Not exactly what im used to seeing from you (not that I dont like your other stuff ;))
Im not entirely happy with that background; I like it, and I love how it works on the kaiser himself, but at some places it is distractingly messy. You used really concentrated ecoline, but couldve wet the paper so as to ease it all up a bit. Of course I dont know if you did this intentionally, but either way I would have liked it a bit smoother.
The actual drawing I love very mucho great work on the head and neck, I like his right arm. His left hand (especially his thumb) seems a bit huge, especially compared to his right one. I guess you had a go at perspective but I think you overdid it; his right hand shouldnt actually be that much farther away than his left.
Another point of critique is on the cloth that is draped on his right arm; we are basically looking at it from the side, so it should look a lot more folded. The part nearest his elbow is quite clean, which makes it look like we are looking at it straight on instead of from the side. You did do this right on the cloth over his left shoulder.
All in all great work man! Im really happy that your back

aww I see its broken... It wouldnt load for me either, but I figured that was just my connection playing up, so I just pasted the url.
What you are looking for is called "digital painting", you can find some good tutorials by googling that. I liked the one I linked because it just covers the basics, instead of going in full detail to one specific case.
Hey I think you might want to try to look at shapes rather than lines; if you look at those references you posted, youll see that there are really no lines in there.
I did a quick, really crappy paintover to illustrate this. I didnt use any lines, instead you have areas of a certain color/brightness. Especially stuff like noses look a lot better this way. Of course you can use more or less different shades to get more detail/depth.

I dont really like the fonts you used on this one, especially the yellow is a bit icky...

Also layoutwise, Im not too fond of this one, its a bit boring.
Cubes and shaman
this one is nice. I think you could have made the "grinding against his face" part more convincing if you had him bend his head away from the cubes, at the moment its like he is pushing his head against the cubes. Another thing that could help is if you changed his mouth a bit so that it is ( > shaped rather than ( ), as if he is pulling away from the cubes...
Sorry for being so harsh, but I know you can take it rite?

Secondly, why the hell do you think we need to generate more views? Newgrounds is one of the most visited sites on the internet. We definitely don't need to generate views through television.
The more the merrier eh?
Thirdly, $2000? Excuse me, but I don't think that's worth it.
Dont agree with this one, I think thats actually terribly cheap.
Also, I would not trust sending money to you for it.
I agree with this one
Lastly, once again, you're trying to organize something where you'll contribute nothing to it whatsoever, but you'll still somehow take credit for everything that you haven't done.
I wholeheartedly agree with this one.
If I was tom, I might supply the money, but Id be damn sure to get someone else in the sadle of this little project. Nothing personal.
So, as we are having this conversation about the rules, and in relation to the conversation before this post and this post by the lovely renaenae v.
At 10/31/10 02:59 PM, Renaenae wrote: As 'helpful' as this topic might be... as it stands: All new threads... discussion or otherwise MUST start with a piece of original art. POSTING in a thread that you KNOW breaks the rules is BREAKING THE RULES!
I think it would be nice if someone (or preferably a collection of certain someones) drew a line as to which rules are enforced here in the art forum. Because I, for one, am confused.
I kinda remember that in a previous discussion on this topic it was stated that if we could answer someones question we should do that rather than just redirect them to the rules (and/or appropriate thread). Likewise I remember some mods expressing that they thought it would be okay if regulars redirected poeple to the rules as long as they hadnt already been mentioned. But then there is this:
POSTING in a thread that you KNOW breaks the rules is BREAKING THE RULES!
I firmly believe that any set of rules is lacking. However, that only means its very important that there is a clear set of rules that is strictly enforced. I.E. Either get rid of that rules (or make the art forum an exception) or enforce it, which corrorrally means banning repeating offenders. Same goes for other rules.
Im not saying I agree with it, but I dont find it strange that poeple break the rules when they are so vague(ly enforced).
