I like it, dunno how much time you have, but it would be nice to have some variety in the enemies; maybe give them an little mark(^ or * or something) on top of their head to identify them.
Also the turning feels a little choppy, doesnt seem like youve got good control, maybe have him start turning a bit slower and increase the turning speed if you hold the key longer.
You posted that medic under a license (on ng, dunno bout dev) that allows poeple to use it for non commercial use if they credit you. So in the case of those magazines you could litigate, thats obviously commercial; websites could be a bit more difficult.

Yeah I guess I was a bit short there. What I meant was: if your text is gonna function as art (logo titles etc) you might want to do it in a different program; but for instructions or whatever I dont see the point in typing something in photoshop and saving it as a png or something to import it in flash.
However what my real point was, which wasnt at all clear from my post, is that I think everyone should just interpret these requirements themselves. Like with the previous themes, some teams used the theme as central element and others just used it as a setting or peripheral happening. Try to incorporate your requirement in your game, but do it in whichever way you feel comfortable doing it.
As I see it, this is still about making a game and having fun in the process; the requirement is more a guideline so that a; you have something to work with and b; you cant premake stuff.

Id say some do and some dont; Drawing rough models before defining your figures isn't just helpful to get the basic anatomy down, its also very useful for getting the poses and composition down.
Ps: Is it okay if I send my art to show what I learned?
As in upload it to this thread? Yeah sure, that way we can gauge your progress and stuff

The threat of lawsuit is always something you can scare people with.
Yeah but the problem is that a lot of these requests are made by people that never visit the art forum, so being tougher doesn't really prevent these threads from getting created
At 4/11/11 11:28 AM, J-qb wrote: I dont know if this is what nae meant....
Upon rereading naes post it turns out that is probably not what she meant... :S
So; guess who just bought a new pc?
hint: its me
I think like Kraig mentioned that each of these options has things to be said for and against it. I`d say maybe a separate forum for requests could be an option, but that would only solve part of the problem; and is basically just moving part of the problem.
I dont know if this is what nae meant, but perhaps creating a requests 101 account where poeple could submit requests and the request101 team would filter them and put them in a newspost if they are legit? Request threads in the forum could then just be deleted whenever they pop up, and a pm could be sent to the creator to submit his request to request101.

I know quite my share of musicians (myself being one of them) and let me tell you most dont take criticism very well.
Anyways, I wouldnt suggest moving to photoshop unless youve got a tablet. While making art using a mouse is possible, it is gonna be difficult. Youd prolly be better off sticking to pencil and paper or some other traditional medium like charcoal if you dont want to spend the money on a tablet.
A tablet doesnt help you make art, it just takes away some of the hinderances that you come across when making digital art.

Myeah... I guess your right about that although Id say referencing real life photos would be preferable over already stylized drawings. The idea is that if you study the basics (anatomy, weight etc) you can stylize that yourself. It can be helpfull to study other artists styles, but if you do that without knowing the basics you risk becoming a one-trick pony.
Think I could fit in around here if I got back into doodling?
Everyone can fit in here as long as you are open to criticism.

I agree although I didnt really ever do that myself I liked seeing how poeple incorporated it.
The icon for dinosaur could be like a dino footprint or something
yeah plus dinosaurs would provide everyone with the much needed experience drawing reptilians for if we ever have an art contest that revolves around dinosaurs!
