He's in the progress of being annihilated or something I dunno... 2/3 of the pics don't actually show anything getting killed.

that's pretty cool, doesn't look very insecty to me though; color-wise that is.

yeah, I'd say my stuff is more "modern" than it is "contemporary" art. (where both are meant to describe a general art movement(s))
Anyways, I like the zebra thing- it's pretty clever and those reactions are, sadly, not really surprising in the least. I'm not usually a fan of minimalism but I think you do it remarkably well.
Thanks, I'm not too upset about those reactions, but the positive ones are quite a big deal to me on my minimalist/stylized stuff, so thanks a lot. It's definitely a direction I want to explore further, but it's difficult to judge if I'm doing a good job.

I'm afraid there aren't any going on atm, why not revive your thread (http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1245972/2) and show us how much you have improved though

For posterity's sake I'll just mention that I haven't updated this because I'm posting most I do in my daily drawings page (http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1287750) ... I might drop some links of stuff I liked in here later.
In other news: I have now officially succeeded as a modern artist:

That and the eraser has a fraction of the nib's pressure sensitivity so I just don't use it regardless.
yeah, plus it takes more time to turn around my pen than it does to press "e" and "b". Plus I hardly ever use the eraser on the back of a pencil either.
Also: my bamboo pen's got eraser and two buttons too, and it looks better than that silly grey thing.
Geez christ this is going well, a week without drawing again...

soyeah I think the entire "best generation/nintendo should make me better pokemon" discussion is tiresome, but this ticked me off.
The original is more original than it's sequels? that's some world-shocking news right there.
At 59 minutes ago, Cryoma wrote: It looks like the wall art will periodically be changed and all (decent) artists will have a shot at it?
That would be neat at least, and that's what I'm hoping the little wall artist button is implying.
I have my doubts, It'd be cool, but I don't know if it'd be practical. they are pretty specific dimensions so someone would have to draw something specifically for this... Regardless they seem to have kind of obliged themselves to change the pics every now and then since they are quite profound and unrelated to the page content. I know that TurkeyOnAStick was working on one wall and I'd love to see that implemented... dunno if it's being saved for later or if it has just been discarded.
At 5 hours ago, TomFulp wrote: 1) Expand Latest Art by one row?
yes definitely.
2) Filter all remaining categories to only show E-T rated content. I gotta admit the amount of boobs changes the vibe... I always go to the Art Portal to see a selection of awesome art, so I don't like people coming and thinking it's just a place for boobs.
maybe give poeple the option, like with the old design, to check on or off the different ratings... dunno so much about this one, I guess it's kinda hard to filter out these voters.
3) Best Art this Year needs adjustment to the sort algorithm. We are weighting things by total votes so brand new submissions can't dominate out the gate, but in this case the views on Madness might bring TOO much weight, although it's a great piece.
I brought this up when the art portal was first introduced and I'll bring it up again cause I still think it's a good idea. Why not have a monthly or 2-weekly gallery showcasing a number of good old and new pics in a certain theme. It'd be up to moderators to select these pieces. That way you get the opportunity to give older/unnoticed stuff some exposure, and the viewer gets to see an interesting collection of work that actually changes more often than every year. Besides; it seems a bit redundant to have best of the year AND best of all time...

4) Perhaps high ranking classics should be a random assortment of the top 100-200. This could be true for all Portals.
that seems like a good idea

Why not draw the suit yourself too? that'd get rid of the problem. just make sure to mention you referenced it.
Looking good btw.

Besides what turkey said; you probably want to get clear for yourself if you just want design help or help implementing this design. If you needed help setting up the website you might need to pay someone to implement the design you hire someone to make... I.e. take that into account when you decide how much you are willing to spend.
At 10 minutes ago, LoCo-joker-05 wrote: So my two questions:
1. Is this because of the re-design?
There have been problems submitting new stuff (flash and art) since the redesign. They're prolly working on it atm.
2. Does NG support PNG now?
The art portal has always supported .png's the forum supports .pngs since the redesign, transparency only works in the forum if the pic is < 200kb
Yeah guys flash and art submission are broken, check toms newspost.
@ pngs: the problems with my pic were probably due to it being larger than 200 kb. (according to tom) the upside of this is no more resaving jpegs at lower quality to fit the limit.
