I dont think so, and if it does its old, so you can legally remake it! yay!

I meant he shouldnt have gotten himself banned then. As I see it: He did something (and I dont know what he did) which landed him a ban. So if didnt want to have a ban, he should have thought about not doing stupid things (again, I do not know, or actually care, what he did).
Its like when someone is sent to jail for robbery and he says: "But I wanted to go to disneyworld....".
You cant join because youre banned, thats one of the ramifications of getting banned.

Note: this is how I see it, of course its up to the collab hoster to determine wether or not to let him join

Well, I supposed you can do everything over pm or mail, but having some form of direct contact is very handy, especially for brainstorming. Once youve figured out who is going to do what and how, it isnt really that important, but for the initial idea it is quite handy.
Timezones can be a bit difficult in this, but you could try and set a certain time to meet (morning for one evening for the other. If you consider your day consisting of 14 active hours (and you probably have more) there will always be two overlapping hours no matter the timezone difference.

Lol, true, but I think it would pep up things around here. ;]

Yeah, good Idea. I think it would work if the old thread just got locked after a final post by a mod stating "this thread was locked due to inactivity, Feel free to start a new similar thread" or something like that... So that if someone redirects poeple to the old thread, they will see that post.
As said before, I think three weeks of non active would be a good time.

I think a few artisits became that way after The Event, but I guess out of some form of error.

Well, I wasnt initially scouted by staff if I remember correctly... After The Event that is, I got scouted by another artist, non mod if I remember correctly. Only later did I become scouted by staff.

dares not put to test by pruning JQb and his 40 scouts :)

Its 31 really... Funny thing is, yesterday I lost and consecutively regained my scouting privileges within a single minute... (I kept my scouts, luckily)

Response to: Art Forum changing for the worst? Posted September 28th, 2009 in Art

Well, Ive only been here since late january, but I kind of agree.
There seem to be less constructive and more stupid threads in here. although Im glad weve gotten past that whole the never ending journey-phase.... that was lame!
I do have to add though, that I think we are currently in a lift after the low we had shortly after the introduction of the portal.
There seem to be more community based projects at the moment (ng calender, ng castle collab, grim collab, screw yourself collab, DOUBLES, etcetera....), And I have more than enough opportunity to post my artage...

also, I found it striking that I used to see you as a really cool guy. (back when I first started frequenting the forum, in january) But since your hiatus, you seem way less cool.... This could be due to the fact that I was new around here and the COWs, which you were hosting, were my first way to really get into the community... but it could still be you...

also: Im drunk, so take this post with a grain of salt,

also also: is this really an art thread? shouldnt this go in the lounge?

You see Kraig, you just need to paint happy trees

Well, as crazy as it sounds, I do think ben has touched the issue here.
What Bob does, is "lucky" painting, if you can call it that. He does not look at what the landscape actually looks like. He rather just puts on random details, that dont even have to make sense.
Its a bit hard explaining this but consider this:
It is hard for you as an artist to really distinguish where all the highlights and shadows and branches and stuff in trees should go (what with foreshortening, shadows of the leaves/branches, what more?), But for the viewer this is equally difficult.
In your painting not every detail has to make sense. A viewer will see that certain shadow, and will see it as a sign that there is a branch casting its shadow there... He doesnt actually have to see that branch.

Now I have never done anything like this, but I see this is how he works. and it gives quick result which lookes moderately okay. Now if you were to actually have some vision and maybe a reference I think you could make quite nice landscapes...
