Ahem. That was me, and I was forbade from going a week before the meetup was originally supposed to happen MR. LUIS! That pissed me off pretty bad, having been planning for several months, just for my parents to tell me no at the last second.

Hey! So am I! :D I'm in my 4th year counseling for the Sayre Summer Recreations Program. Goddamn, nothing like 250 screeching children to wake you up in the morning, amirite?! Big difference is that my program is only a day camp, I only work from 8 to 12. And it's only $5 for a kid to join for the all the 8 weeks, $50 if you like outside the school district.

Hmm, who wants to try this again next year maybe?... I'll be able to do it next year, since I'll be 18.

Real Silent Hill Meetup 2010 anyone?

Yeah. Planning over the Sketchbook Tour...probably a no bueno idea.

Well, Luis originally ducked out back when this meetup was unfortunately scheduled the same week as WizardCon. He didn't get the memo that we moved this thing.

Yeah, that meetup did not go as planned at all. <_<, Sorry that things got so screwed up. As for Tom, he asked about if he should come, but the situation has been such a clusterfuck that I told him to go at his own discretion. I was all set to go, but my parents pulled to plug on my chances. There were A LOT of things that went wrong and it sucks that we didn't get to tell you guys to stop before it was too late. Beta said that the meet's probably postponed for 5 weeks or something. Don't take me up on that. But I still won't be allowed to attend as long as I'm living under my parents' roof.

This was all in good intentions, don't think for a second this was some sadistic attempt at manslaughter. <_< You're right, just poor planning and a big domino effect of shittiness. I do thank Beta for trying to salvage this thing.

I'm going to make you a "Survivor of the Real Silent Hill Meetup" badge, since this seemed like a fucking horror of sorts.

Like... Silent Hill...

Could have ended up really bad, with Pyramid Head and all.

Really? I did the same thing and all I got was a weird look.
i got a thumbs up from the guy in front of me and a blowjob from the girl behind me.

Lmao. Meh, the guys at the post office in my town are fucking shysters. A few weeks ago, I needed to mail out a DVD for a festival, and they said that normal shipment may take 7 to 14 days (bullshit, right) but I needed to make sure it was there within 8 to meet the duedate. Then that changed EVERYTHING, originally, it was going to take $2.30 to ship it, but after saying that, they're like "Oh, then it will cost you $48.95". I argued with them for about 20 minutes then stormed out. I went to the post office in the next town over. I told them the situation, they just shrugged it off, and shipped it for $2.75. It ended up getting to Canada two days earlier.

Bastard postal service.

Wait a minute, I can answer the question using my knowledge of statistics. Jim, you're right, only HARDCORE NG'ers so to speak would be interested in doing a survey. Because of this, you get skewed results due what statisticians call a "Voluntary Response Sample". So the results, of course, can't be believed completely.

Ok, mumbo jumbo.

I know they're really starting to gasp for air in the more recent episodes. They'd better have a good movie or something to catch their fans back or I think they don't have much longer. I mean, the Pirate episode...there was a few instances they tried to pitch a few jokes but they just failed. Like the fish coming out of the water and screaming? That was a Family Guy sort of joke...

not to get off topic too much, but I enjoyed that episode, and I don't recall a Family Guy joke like that. Maybe there is, I gave up on the show a while ago. South Park did have a pseudo-movie (originally planned for theaters), Imaginationland. It sounded like the worst idea ever but ended up being hilarious. Also, of course there was the movie from 1999, but they're overdue for a new one. They weren't even the same show pretty much, back then as they are right now. Their main schtick, which they're going to cling to, is being the only animated show on television who can rip on current events during the week it's happening. It's a good schtick though.

Now, for Family Guy, oh god...that show use to be funny and tolerable, now every episode is literally exactly the same, each character is so predictable and the show for me is getting unwatchable and more unfunny as it ages. Every show gets like that at some point, and south park is starting to get like that. King of the Hill got like that-the characters too predictable and the plots uninteresting, and thus it's canceled. I think the Simpsons has about 5 years left. Futurama's back though which I think is great as long as the characters don't get predictable and stale like Family Guy and starting to be South Park. Oh well.

Wow, didn't expect to see a Simpsons Movie thread... 2 years after the movie came out...

Anyway, I remember the mind-destroying anticipation I had while waiting several years for the movie came out, and when it finally did. I wasn't disappointed, I liked it, and so did all my friends. It may not have been the BEST movie, but for a show that had already been running for 17 years by that point, it was good. The Simpsons will always be known as a good show that has curiously run for... 20 years and more, so hearing all this crap like "THE SIMPSONS NEEDS TO DIE! FUCK YOU! FAMILY GUY'S BETTER!" etc etc... Is just redundant. THe show is in a better place than it was BEFORE the movie came out and I still look forward to (most) new episodes.

At least it ages much better than Family Guy has been, The Simpsons in Season 20, pretty decent, Family Guy in Season 7, JUST IDIOTIC, REPETITIVE SHIT! Come on really, not even to 150 episodes yet and the humor is staler than week-old bread. With The Simpsons about to reach 450 episodes and still being good enough to swallow, what does it say about Family Guy? I laughed at the idea of a Family Guy movie being in the works. Movies have to be TIMELESS, Family Guy just parodies everything popular at the time so, oh no! What will Family Guy do without its redundant pop-culture references for when it's time to make a movie, it will wither and DIE.

Also, remember how Family Guy was originally just a complete, unoriginal garbage heap of an idea based off of The Simpsons? The old episodes of Family Guy are standable, but jeeeeeez. Ok, I'm done.
