(The following is a Flash author's point of view)
A couple of month ago when a movie was submitted, it used to stay on the 50 Most recently submitted list for about a day. When the BLAM and PROTECTION points were introduced, movies seemed to stay there for a 1 to 2 days. Recently, after the issue of people voting 0 consistently movies are up on the list for 1/2 to 1 day. This means less exposure to an author on average.

Suggestions:
1) The 50 most recent submission list could be extended to 60 or 70 or more
2) The daily top 5 could become daily top 10.
3) New submissions that have a score of 2.50 to 3.00 could be also highlighted with a different color.

What do you think?

Yes, I saw that Icon Wars had less than 100 votes when it became the Daily Feature. I was waiting for the daily top list to see how my game did. After midnight (ET) Icon Wars became the daily feature on the Portal page. That seemed strange since I didn't see Icon Wars in the 50 most recently submitted list before and after it became the daily feature. It was still under review (less than 100 votes) at that time.

Seems like an interesting idea.

Is it going to appear on the main page every day? Most of the information seems to be available on the Portal page. This may be redundant for frequent NG visitors but it might be a great thing for people that visit NG less frequently and especially for new visitors. On a similar note, you could have a page that lists Past Daily Top 5's (unless it already exists and I haven't seen it yet).

I like the "...following popular artists" section. Maybe this section can be expanded somehow. e.g. feature artists from different movie categories (comedy, action,...).

There seems to be lots of cool changes coming to NG. Keep up the good work!

A tutorial suggestion: BUTTONS.

Many people don't use (maybe because they don't know, or don't want to) hit area with buttons. For me this is especially annoying if the button is a text where the characters use really fine lines.

How about this: When someone submits a movie, they have to select the ratings (as is now). But when a movie is reviewed, similar rating categories would be available for viewers on the review page. The final rating would be a combination of the two. Just a thought.

It was somewhat annoying to see Tricky twirl his winky but, now in hindsight, the whole Tricky

invasion was pretty funny. Just think of it as an April's fool joke in JANUARY! Or some kind

of other "special" event on NG. Who knows, maybe Tricky'll have his fan club soon.

Anyways, the Tricky craze should be gone soon and then you realize how much you miss him -

hahaha (evil laugh).
