Yeah and the other forums are ghey cause noone is in them. Plus I dont like how this guy is talking shit about my threads, Lube is a reality and the internet is a good place to get real advice to some of your most personal problems and get solutions. If you get 20 replies usually the 2 useful ones are all you need to get on with whatever your trying to figure out.

This is just my opinion, but I hate when I'm going to post a reply to a thread, and when I'm finished and post the "post it!" button, I realize that there are lots of posts before mine that weren't there before. Some of them may even say what I just wrote, making my post useless. Personally, I hate that. I prefer forums which are a bit slower than that, that actually look like a forum and not like a chat. But as I said, this is just my opinion. I also prefer having a few mature people posting than having hundreds of immature users derailing the thread, though this is an "extreme" example.

Hardly ever real stuff is posted here. And lots of stuff sounds fake. So we assume everything is fake.

I'd also say that's quite a bad problem. As you say, it comes to the point when people will just assume everything is fake, when there may be some posts with cool stories that get ignored because of the high amount of topics that are blatant lies.

While it's true that sometimes people at other forums frown upon General, some users here are not bad. Actually there are some good mature users in this forum, but they are usually outnumbered by the "other people".

The best thing you can do, is ignore the posts you don't like, and the threads that you consider immature. Just don't pay attention to them and focus on the good ones.

Forum: Where is / How to?

Also, note that Flash Player is a free program that is used to reproduce .swf files such as the movies and games on this website. You can download it here.

The program used to make Flash movies and games is called Adobe Flash. That is the program that costs money, and can be bought here.

About a free alternative, I'd say LiveSwif is the best one though I've never tried it myself. Keep in mind that it's not as good as Flash, but at least it's free. You can follow the link in Sir-Nuts' post to download it.

Abusive flashes which pass judgment should be reported to Wade.

If you see a rule-breaking post and you think that the forum moderators have overlooked it, you can PM any BBS Mod (you can find a complete list of moderators here, or in the bottom of every page on the forums). However, don't send a PM to a mod every time you see a post that breaks the rules. Most of these posts will be deleted shortly after they are posted, so only PM a mod when you think that they really overlooked something.

Sorry, I think you're right, I was probably thinking about NGMag when I wrote that. But it's weird because I remember reading about Dumping Grounds not long ago. It was on this thread:

Well, that's obvious, child pornography is not the same as common porn. It is illegal everywhere and people actually go to jail for putting that on the internet.

Actually, that's not allowed. Read this thread: User pages - Some Ground Rules.

Quoted from Tom:
'However, we aren't interested in seeing pictures from your porn collection. Yeah, if it's something funny that you made, it will most likely slide - much like our threads on the art forum - but you should know the difference between "a funny drawing with boobs in it" and "oh look, a photograph of a vagina."'

Well, I think that the number of posts doesn't have to be a requirement to join. We are looking for quality, not quantity, and someone may have only a few posts, but if they are good then that's OK.

For example, if I remember correctly, byteslinger only had four posts when he asked to join, and I think that I don't need to say that she deserves to be here. I'm glad we accepted her, and that's a great example of how post count doesn't matter. Just look at her now :D

Basically, we are a club who wants to protect Newgrounds and the portals. We do this by voting fairly, catching all the rule-breaking submissions we can and reporting them if necessary. We want to make NG as good and fair as it can be.

I was pretty sure one of you two would make it. Congrats to KrevZabizak for entering the list, and I think Lizzardis also deserves a honorable mention after getting so many votes ;) Keep up the good work and I'm pretty sure you'll be a new regular soon (and the same goes to all the potentials. Just keep it up and one month you'll receive a special surprise).

Congrats to byteslinger for gaining over 2,000 total points since last month.
Congrats to LegolaSS for reaching 20,000 total points.

Congrats ;)

I forgot to mention this last month, but the list of Regulars now is completely different to what it was like when I made the first regulars update in 17 months. As a result of iscrulz leaving the Regulars List, the oldest regulars now are 36Holla and kidray76.

I wasn't around then, but it must feel pretty weird to see how things change so much. Meh, I'm just a n00b.

I have it set to always come on in mode 1, so it always start at the max low. This is nice because if you're in the dark and your eyes are adjusted to the dark you don't want the thing coming on real bright and hurt your eyes, ruin your night adapted eyes, etc. The min output is plenty of light to navigate around a dark room, etc. Two quick taps will bump it to the next mode. So I can double tap for a little more light, double tap for even more. If I need the full output all I have to do is press and hold the button and it will go to full output as long as I hold it down. Once I let go it returns to whatever mode I was previously in, such as max low. If I tap then press and hold I get a random strobe which can be used to disorient someone or get someone's attention, or rave.

There is another mode which lets you dim the light up and down to adjust the amount of light you want. You can also have it blink out the current battery voltage, like 3 blinks followed by 8 blinks would be 3.8v. It has circuitry to prevent rechargeable batteries from being over discharged. You can program a variety of strobes, SOS, and beacons, varying their output and frequency.

I didn't know there were flashlights as advanced as that. Some of the features sound cool and they can come in handy, like having several modes, as you mentioned. But it makes me think if such a complex flashlight is actually fully used. I mean, of course they are used, but do people really use and take advantage of all of its features?

I've always thought a flashlight is such a simple object, I wouldn't need so many modes and stuff like that as long as it can light a room when the power goes off. But anyway I'm not into flashlights and I rarely use them, but do you consider all of these features necessary? I would just think that most of them are there to "show off".

There are some things that could be better, but it's hard to find one flashlight that is perfect in every way, but so far this comes the closest for what I want. Everyone has their own preferences like anything else.

What would you consider to be a perfect flashlight? You already said what you look for (size, features and UI), but which is the perfect combination? Also, how much would you be willing to pay for a good flashlight?

Sorry for so many questions, but it's what came to my mind after reading your posts :/
