Overall, brilliant animation and I'm not surprised it won the top three awards this week.

I just watched Tarboy, and it's awesome! As you say, it looks really professional, the animation and music are great, and the storyline is good to (fortunately there will be a Tarboy II). I instantly added to my favorites, and I'm sure it will be nominated for the NG awards. I really enjoyed it, and I am still watching it over and over again.

There's nothing wrong with them, they don't break any rule or anything. If you don't like them, you can just vote 0 (or whatever score you consider appropriate) and move on.

You can get fonts in websites like dafont.com. You can visit Google if you want to look for other websites where you can download fonts for free.

The thing is that you need to know the font's name.
@NGReviewEater: No, it's not arial :) The "S" is pretty different.

You can advertise your voice acting skills here. In addition, there's a thread where people request voice actors whenever they need them, so you can respond to any of those requests :)

Once you do those things, you will surely start voice acting for some movies and games. And eventually, you may get to be better known and more people will want to work with you.

The best program out there Adobe Flash, you can get it here though it's pretty expensive (it costs US$699, though you can get a discount if you're a student).

Then you need to learn how to use it. For this there are a lot of tutorials out there on the web, but you can start by watching the Newgrounds tutorials.

There are also some free alternatives, but they are not as good as flash. Liveswif is one of the most used free programs.

It was just a few months ago that this happened. SInce we wanted to have our members to be familar with the whistle system. We were getting some memebers who had no idea how to use it. So since we flag alot of garbage that comes in, it was not wroking out. It also is seen to be a better rounded user if he/she knows how to flag the right things.

To be more specific, it was on 3/13/09 that a poll showed that most Barracks members thought it was a good idea to have a Bronze whistle as a requirement. You can read more about it on page 1022, there were several interesting things going on in the EGB at that time (the rollcall, SlashFirestorm became the Chief Barracks Officer along with other changes in the Officer List, the reduced version of the code of conduct was introduced, requirements for joining were increased, etc).

Yeah, sometimes if the thread has a bunch of posts (or if it is several pages long), I won't post on it. Instead I'll just read it, sometimes just to find that someone else posted what I was going to say.

It all depends on the thread though, some threads are interesting enough to post regardless of the amount of replies it already has.

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and can be accessed from a mIRC client such as this (you can download it from there, there you will also find more information about how to install it). From there, you connect to a server, and then to a specific channel (all the information about how to do this should be on that website).

Yes it has, I remember back when you first applied to the NGPD, you still b/p-ing at that same rate from back then?

Oh, those were the good ol' times. Now I don't B/P that much, I watch some under judgment submissions every now and then but that's it (in the last -monthly- roster I only got 66 B/P). Also, I will be having some extra activities in the afternoon in a near future, and there won't be too much free time in my schedule after it).

Sure, no problem ;)

It's the same as when people trying to sell a product will always be kind with their customers, whether they are serious or not about buying something. If you enter a store, and see the store clerk being rude with someone in the store: even if you don't completely know what's going on, you will prefer going to another place next time you need to buy something. Or at least I would.

It's the same as when someone comes in and sees a reply like that. They may not know whats going on or whether the person who asked to join was being serious or not, but they will probably feel intimidated.

But of course, we're not trying to sell something here. And yeah, it's a pretty stupid example but it just came to my mind, lol :P

Eh, probably not. Go get yerself some stats, and come back later.

The reason why you can't join is because currently you do not meet the requirements. These are the minimum requirements for membership:

1. A Blam/Protect rank of "Private" or above (2,500 B/P minimum).
2. Advanced Whistle status (Bronze or better).
3. Sufficient posting quality (minimal one-liners, intelligent posts that contribute to threads, etc).
4. Sufficient review quality (helpful and civil, with constructive criticism, regardless of the flash or author).
5. No outstanding bans or recent disreputable behavior.
6. No zero-effort flashes (static images, single frames, tiny loops, etc) after 1 January 2009.

You can find more information about the EGB recruitment guidelines here. You may also want to read the Barracks FAQ.

Feel free to apply in the future once you meet the requirements. Meanwhile, you may want to consider joining the NGPD when you reach the Security Guard badge (400-499 B/P).
-

We should always give somewhat of an in-depth explanation when someone applies to join. Giving a short response may give others a bad impression about us, and it may also scare newer people who were considering joining. As always, it's better to elaborate, being specific, and of course, it's good being kind too :)

If the submission is under judgment, scroll down, click on why you think it should be flagged and provide a short description (if it's stolen try to provide a link the original). You can use the attached picture at the end of this post as a reference.

If the flash has already passed judgment, then you'll have to PM Wade about it (again, try to provide a link to the original).
