This is probably the beta phase. I'm sure they'll include the button in the next (hopefully soon) redesign, which may (or may not) be launched with the literature portal. Besides, Tom hasn't made a news thread to announce the release of the portal yet.

I was blown away by the quality submissions submitted by already popular artists, it's great how the team have done things, I don't think it even need's polishing up.

Yeah, me too, there are already a lot of great submissions, and the portal is really active right now. With time things will calm down, but I just love seeing so many good stuff :)

I've already submitted two things to test it out.

I recommended you for the art portal :D

While I feel that just saying "Oh My Fucking God" is enough of a post considering how important and awesome this is, I'm writing a somewhat longer post so people would look at this and think it's a better post than it really is. But really, OMFG

The art portal is here:

So long as the video is your own work and not something made by someone else that you thought was cool to upload. Newgrounds does not like stealing.

Thanks, someone could have got me wrong when I said "you can submit everything". Obvously you must always abide the NG rules.

To submit content to NG, you must go to this page. Right now you can submit flashes to the Flash portal, and music to the Audio portal (also, you can post your art in the art forum). In the future, users will be able to submit art and literature to the oncoming portals ;)

About submitting videos, you can submit everything as long as it's .swf format (this means that you can, for example, submit a live action video if the format is .swf).

Well, there's nothing wrong if you disagree with this, but honestly, that amendment has nothing to do with this and is not a valid point. Your user page is provided by Newgrounds, and belongs to Newgrounds, and when you sign up you agree to abide certain rules, which you must follow. There is some stuff that you obviously can't post in your user page (as there are things that you can't post in the forums), and I think it's a good idea that now there are people who moderate that.

I don't know if this is true, but before, it was Wade the one who had to delete the news posts, now he'll have less work to do which is a good think. It's the same as before, when Wade was the only one who could delete reviews.

Also, this post is much well written than mine:

At 6/15/09 04:18 PM, MultiCanimefan wrote: Cobra, the Constitution applies to privately owned industries and companies. This website is not a Democracy; we are users who agree to abide by the rules of said website. We as users have limited rights within a given establishment. You've already given up some of your right by signing up in the first place.

And nobody said that you won't be able to post rants anymore. Again, I don't know much about what the staff is planning to do, but posting rants and stupid stuff was allowed before, so my guess is that it will still be allowed now. I'm pretty sure that the rules will be the same, but now there will be more people moderating.

Yeah, I also make some icons every now on then. Some people may think this does too little help, but at least you're improving NG and it's a good thing to do in your free time :)

Also, while making icons, I usually scroll to the bottom in the icon helpers page, because the flashes at the bottom are the most recent.

And by the way, there's also an icon making club, in case you're interested.

We use to use a strategy where he would build just military and I would just build the economy. He would build next to me so he could easily protect the both of us.

So with his 100 soldiers or so he would protect us and I would feed both of our economies with trade. There were times where I had so many farms and plantations built (infinite source of food and gold) that ever couple of seconds I had another 1,000 gold and food. Works great if one person doesn't mind not destroying things all the time.

That's a good, commonly used strategy, but if the opponent managed to destroy the economy player, the other one would be vulnerable since he would run out of resources. But once that both bases are set up, it can be an easy path to win :D

Usually while playing alone against friends I rush to build military units and catch them without nothing to defend themselves (my friends always end up getting angry, lol). While playing on teams, I sometimes use something similar to the strategy you just mentioned. Especially if I'm in the same team than a certain friend who is kind of a turtling guy who builds impossible-to-destroy fortresses.

And I don't think we've ever built a wall in number 3 while playing. In number 2 I used them all the time. Sometimes in layers of 5 or 6 walls when I had the resources.

Yeah, while playing AoE 3 I usually have the feeling that walls aren't that necessary. However in 2 I usually build them if I see the game will take too long, or if I'm playing against several people.

Also, on an unrelated RTS note, I want to reinstall Starcraft but I can't find the damn cd >:(

Yes, if you vote 0 on a submission while it's under judgment and it gets deleted later, you get a blam point. It happens when Wade deletes a bunch of spam flashes in a short time, busting everyone's blam points. This also encourages us to keep voting 0 on shit flashes, even if they will be saved.

It's pretty easy, you just type <code> followed by the code you want to write, and then you type </code>

So, basically, you do this:

<code>
Put all your code here.
</code>

Remember than this only works on the Flash and Programming forums.

Most people use a program called Adobe Flash, you can get it here though it's pretty expensive (it costs US$699, but you can get a discount if you're a student).

Then you need to learn how to use it. For this there are a lot of tutorials out there on then net, but you can start by watching the Newgrounds tutorials.

C-Doodlez-Man's tip was good, but if you just want to expand, you can keep building in a neighbor city (just remember to connect both cities with roads, etc).

Actually, it does, because if you're constantly checking the EGB to see the latest activity, you will probably read the thread and be online a lot longer than you would if you had nothing to read here.

I didn't thought about it, but I have to admit that you may be right. While on NG, I would probably spend much more time in the EGB thread (though still it doesn't mean I would be online for more time).

But yeah, sometimes the thought comes to my mind... "Is it really worth it?" Living the whole life, no matter how good it is, knowing it's going to end and nothing will happen later.
