I think you need a change in environment. Maybe transfer to a better school with more people like you? I was just like you in middle school, but things got somewhat better when I transferred to residential school.

I hope you know that refraining from eating meat doesn't mean that people are going to stop killing animals to make meat. Stores sell animals that are already dead. They have a fixed supply, it's not like you are saving an animal's life because you chose not to have it cut up and processed.

In fact, what you decided might even be considered wasteful. The animal is already dead, why not eat it and put it's nutrients into your body for re-use?

The only applicable reason I see for going vegetarian is to have a healthier lifestyle. Entire nations would have to stop eating meat before animals stop being killed for food.

May I ask why I was kicked? Someone needs to unmod the stickam mods that abuse the kicking power. Someone is kicked like every five minutes for no good reason.

It's a math and science academy so I guess it's just their thing.

I was getting an HP TX1000 (really a tx 13something) but the gateway is only $350 used and that beats a new tablet for $1500 any day.

So, I'm transferring to a residential school and they require me to have a tablet PC. I wanted to know if the Gateway CX2726 was any bit decent. It will be running on XP. I've heard good reviews but i want a second opinion.

Link to the specs: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Q106 /ViperC/1013921Rsp2.shtml

What would this be good for? What may I have a problem with?

Please offer input, thanks.

sorry, just thinking out loud.

I don't think so. I read a philosophical essay about that idea once. Denying that there is a god is denying its existence. From the point of view of the one in denial, there is no god in the first place and they are defending that point of view.

From another point of view, a god could exist, but exist as an absence. In other words, a god that we all image is divine and stuff, but just one that does not exist or is not present. The article was much more descriptive but I forgot some parts...

Sorry to bump this failing thread, but I felt I had to comment.

As everyone else (pretty much) has been saying, we don't know. I personally think that the big bang is more likely than there being a god of some sort. Seriously, in response to the jesus freaks above, religion is the very last thing you can tell people is true. The big bang has real evidence.

Don't worry about it, we'll never know.

Also, about the big bang, it's not just a theory that something exploded out of nothing and all of this matter flowed out everywhere. There quite probably could have been stuff around when whatever happened occurred.

On a point of clarification, athiests don't necessarily believe in the big bang. Many of them seek better understanding of the REAL world around them and are open minded to what can be proven (or what is probable).

I like Four on Six, Aerigin (or something, it's by Wes Montgomery), I don't knoe the names of a lot of stuff I listen to.

I would recommend going to pandora.com and making a jazz playlist, then filtering out songs you don't like.

Have you ever tried linux? I thought the same thing until I tried it out. it was pretty darn fast and it can be customized to look a shitload better than XP or Vista.

Idk. I have never used Xubuntu. All you need to do is do some updates. For games, if ur computer can handle it, figure out how to install Battle for Wesnoth for Linux (its on Windows too). It's fun.

I run Vista dual booted with Ubuntu, and Ubuntu with an installed KDE desktop for Kubuntu.

There are several forums without flaming. The audiences in those places are more mature (usually in age, occassionaly in personality).

I was wondering if there are any good online communities out there where I can chat about humanities, science, philosophy etc. with other young people?

I ask because I'm completely tired of being around my overly religious Christian family and I want to talk to some people that actually make sense.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if it has all of the specifications you want, but I use byethost.com. I've run several PHP sites on their servers and had no issues.

Also x10hosting is good but you have to log into the forum every two weeks or they suspend your account, so I quit that.

Both are free with premium options for a low price.

I sound like a hypocrite saying this because I started my site with a CMS and then modified the code, but I think it is better for him to code from scratch. It's not too hard to make a good looking html template yourself with a little research.

It will also be more original, and he'll gain more experience. For me, using a content management service and templates makes me feel a bit dependent on other people's abilities. It's like you rely on them to make things you want to use. It's a bad feeling xD

If you ever need any help, PM me. I'm a web designer too, my site is in my sig.

Just a note, fix your table code on the front page. It shows both games in one cell while there are two cells in the table. The cell on the left is just empty.
