I still think using real gameboy samples or a tracker is the best way. 0_o

It's free and it is ok for public use.
http://www.tweakbench.com/ <- get it there, and get toad as well. Toad is good for percussion.
I posted a topic like this a few weeks ago. I am making fake chiptunes now.

My remix of Ice Cap from Sonic 3.
Lol, I find it funny you can use a forum, but not .zip files. No offense or anything meant though.

It is good for beginners though because of the user friendly interface. but fl is really powerful program that you can do just as much with as reason or cubase or anything else, if not more.
I always found this to be true.
This is a pretty stuck up post.
Good luck.

Sorta QFT.
I know you said it 2 years ago, but dude... queer means "weird". Atleast, that's my definition of it. That's why I thought it was offensive when they made that show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. That apart from the show being offensive all together.
I'm American, liberal, and I think homosexuality is 100% fine. Rare find, yes.
The atomic bump continues.

Yeah, I wasn't going to follow that advice at all. I have no clue why people think NES music is midi.
Alright, I am double posting just to say that I found the perfect VST plugin called Peach. It's at http://www.tweakbench.com/ , if anyone ever needs something like this. Sorry to have wasted anyone's time. :D

I think the thing ur actually looking for are downgraded pulse/square sounds
Thats what i recall my GB color sounding like anyway
Yeah... That's sorta what I'm aiming for. I'm searching for some VSTs right now.
I am trying to make some chip/bit music in FLstudio. So far, I have made 6 songs, but I am not 100% convinced I made it actually sound like a Gameboy/NES. Any suggestions? All I've got are slightly modified 3x osc synths, and it only works decently. All I think I need are some better skills in FLstudio instrument editing. Thought maybe some of you could help me out.
This tutorial helps. I wanted to learn beat slicer and this is a perfect example.
Basically... Slayer is a joke.
Sytus + making your own synths w/ 3x osc = your best friend.
That's all I do. Only issue I have is finding better drums that are free for public use (just don't like messing with private use stuff).
LOTS of chords and scales. That's about it.
I suck, but I wanna join for some fun. I like melodic stuff... and Finland.
I use FL Studio, which is one of the most basic programs. It's probably the best to start with.
