I really never used any effect on any of my songs. I only used a preset master once, and I don't even know how to use automation and compression on my stuff.

One of the things I don't know how to do and could really come in handy is using the keyboard to make the pattern.
I noticed that if you press the keys, you play the current sample in different tones, but you can't use it to make the pattern, can you?

I'm still starting on the music making, and I chose to start with FL.
Don't get me wrong, my stuff sucks, since I didn't read anything like a tutorial or something, but I don't think it's hard to understand the basics at all. I still need to learn the things like mixing, mastering and of course, get better with the musicality itself, but that's practice.
I started like 2 months ago and can make stuff that is listenable, using samples from the Freesound Project. None of my samples are paid.
