As a website that is depending on bandwith, their dispute is costing you income.
I would put a claim on the losses it cost NG on the responsible companies.

Take a legal person to find out what can be claimed.
A site as big as yours loses a substantial amount of revenue when this happens.

As a result, download speeds were slowing to a crawl during peak hours. The problem was getting worse and worse, with NG running poorly most of the time for Verizon users.

This week Brendon hooked us up with CloudFlare's content delivery network. Our DNS is now running through CF and they are working some serious magic to get our files to you faster than ever, all over the world.

It has been 24 hours since we made the DNS change so everyone SHOULD be able to access NG right now, but some ISPs may still be caching the old record. If you know someone who can't access NG, tell them to try again later today, or try Google Public DNS.

We're also still working out some kinks with things like caching. If you update your game or movie, it may take a while before you see the new version running until this gets sorted out.

BURNING QUESTION: How is Newgrounds running for you today? Is it better than ever? The same? Do you FEEL the difference?

Now would be a good time to mention that our 2014 Supporter Upgrade is available, so you can browse NG with minimal ads and see the pages load even faster!
Response to: May Nac '12 The Adventures Of Urmom Posted May 8th, 2012 in Audio

Uhmmmm my mom has passed away.
It feels awkward to make either a fun song or a serious song for this competition.
The only thing i can do is enter a song that is serious and expresses how i feel about her.

That really doesn't seem the aim of this competition.
I will see what i can do.

I don't want to win this because I really don't want to be part of a game in this way.

Hope you understand!

Eleven days remain to enjoy this version of NG! Soak it in because soon everything will be NEW.

Will the music portal finally fully mature?
And
Will there be a new and better voting system?

Good luck on changing all and all the work that is done and needs to be done :)

Response to: good mp3 software <$50? Posted December 7th, 2010 in Audio

Okay after all the responses i have been reading i am gonna help you out!
Importing midi into FL-Studio Gives you the midi mapper FL-studio provides.
This sounds pretty default and when converted straight into a MP3 render it will not give you the quality you are after.
The thing is that every producer here that uses fl studio has come to grips in some way of form with mastering their music. And for that you will need to spend some time.
First of each and every one of the instruments are applicable for Seperate EQ Compressing and Limiting. You can do that on a instrument by choosing and fx channel in the top left corner of the fl instrument popup. In thta chosen channel you can load an eq and or compressor and or a limiter and add reverd delay chorus or any other effect you might want to add.

To get the sound the way you want it you will have to use your ears.
My methods of getting the right sounds is based on what i have heard on tracks from the biggest and i try to get as good of a sound that they got.
Sometimes an instrument sound good as it is and it meets your requirements from the get go.
So then you can leave it alone if you want.

Drumms are treatted differently most of the time.
You can do each drumm sound seperately a lot of the producers do.
But when you have treated them seperately you now redircet them using send that you load in each and everyone of the drum fx channels. In send you send them to one of the 4 send channels.
But they need to be send to one send channel only. So that they join there.
In that send channel load a compressor sometimes load another compressor and double the compression or even throw in a limiter.
Make the drums sound as pumping as you like using that compression right there.
In many acoustic sounding tracks drumms are left uncompressed.

Now the Master channel to get the music to blend and come to and overl sound you can add EQ there.
Add a limiter or even an overal reverb.
This is done to get the overall sound in one space. It is not allways needed but it can enhance your production.

Once you have done all this you can render it to all kinds of files.
Sometimes low compression mp3 gives you side effects that the mp3 compression delivers.
That can be a real pain. So try to get the best compression setting in mp3.

I hope this helps you!

I've been using an FL studio demo to convert midi files into mp3s, and my songs never have the sound/instrument quality of most of the popular songs here. Do you know of any good user-friendly mp3 software? I'd prefer notation based (if it exists), since I am not trained in composing using those matrix things most mp3 software uses.

IF YOU WANT BETTER VOTE SYSTEM IN THE AUDIO PORTAL PRESS REPLY AND TYPE:
BETTER AUDIO PORTAL VOTE SYSTEM YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here i am opening a new topic!
The new Audio portal.
Why because i am getting sick and tired of getting 0 bombed.....
Each night when i release a song especially on wednesday... it gets bombed.....
Tonight i released a blues song 6 votes one of mine 2 downloads withing 4 hours it had put it one 4.90.
Then i saw the new top five so i fgured that i should check my song and how it was doing!
8 votes 3.72 Some retarded kid with a crap song on their hands rushed through all the genres voting down every high scoring song.
Trouble is that now my song will get noticed much harder than before 2 downloads in 4 hours means that it will reach a pretty large audience if it stays in the lime light.

CHANGE THE VOTING ON THE AUDIO PORTAL PLEASE????? I BEG YOU TOM! AND WADE!
MAKE IT MORE HONEST AND PLEASE HURRY!
HOW CAN YOU MAKE IT MORE HONEST?
DON'T GIVE THE FREQUENT VOTERS POWER BUT GIVE THE HONEST VOTER POWER!
When some puts out a vote lets say 4 and after 50 votes the score is 3.98 it means the 4 vote was honest and it should be rewarded. POWER PLUS ONE.
BAD VOTING MEANS POWER MINUS 2
I have seen lots of good producer leave the audio portal in the past two years... why because they were sick fighting a battle against dishonest f**k retard 0 bombers.
It is a loosing battle for talented people. The frustration is agonizing!

Response to: Underworld Game, Logo Stuff Posted January 14th, 2006 in NG News

I Like What he has done with the tank and character.
As you said he has beefed it but keepin the original Underground feel.
However The text is the part that needs some work.
I don't feel that the font fits the character of the logo completely.
It comes close but its not the spot on feeling i am getting.
The other thing is that the text could have a little more body.
The Balance is a little off.
If you are gonna stick with this font, take a close look at the spacing between the
first E and the W its optically a bit too wide.

Anyways Good luck witj the design proces and with the Building I ll get back to you soon with a very good game I'll get in contact with you soon.

Greetz and Good luck
