Agreed, fast food is pure convenience. Order your food and within one minute its ready. You eat it, enjoy it and go home. Now is it the healthy choice, obviously not but who are we trying to kid? If we are hungry and want something delicious for cheap...those fast food places provide what we are looking for.

No worries? Sounds like you're underestimating mobile phones. I sell phones...they are more than just a communication device. People make movies off of them, upload, download, sketch art, social network.... i think people do more things on a phone now-a-days than they do with computers. You dont think this is true? From my own experience, i find myself most of the time going on my phone to watch youtube videos because its faster. lol

Cellphones are just mini laptops that can go anywhere with you with easier access to apps. If i can't convince you, by next year, i wont have too. As the say "the proof is in the pudding"

THANK YOU WEEABOO! Thank you. Finally someone see what im talking about.

Honestly i thought myspace was alot cooler than facebook to begin with but ALL my friends transitioned to facebook soo... fuck it... had to roll with the punches. My myspace page had more of my personality on it.

Hey tom, Luis has an amazing point. if people had more access to your website through an app maybe people would be on more often. I have a million apps on my phone but the ones i constantly use are mail, facebook, youtube and google. I bet if people could access your website through their device it would help ALOT.

I wish i knew how to develop applications for cellular devices. I swear im going to learn how sometime soon.

Tom you should brainstorm with your fellow NGERS.

Response to: is the BBS slowing down? Posted September 26th, 2012 in General

Not sure what to say.

"The BBS is whatever you make it" feels appropriate but honestly...

when newgrounds first started the BBS was full of artist of all calibers . People that, IMO, really wanted to out shine another person. I would constantly see their name and post of something randomly interesting. Small community that felt larger than it really was. I still see a select few that participate in the forums like the old days but nothing near what it was like. Then again we were all teens and responsible-free ATM. Now most of us are making strides toward our goals in life or busy overcoming obstacles.

Whatever the case may be... im part of a different era in the BBS but still like to post regardless. Soon i will probably take another extended period of time off from here and return with more wisdom to share.

Now, do you guys think singularity is something we will witness in our lifetime? According to Moore's law, its possible for technology to keep expanding for 30 years at the current rate even though a more realistic number would be 10 years then slowing. Vernor Vinge is idea of singularity is more likely to occur during the 21st century, but will it? hmmm

You dont think the human race would be able to withstand the war? In singularity's early stages im sure would still be dependent on humans. Once singularity is achieved, eradication should'nt take place immediately, but if cognition purely relys on basic instincts then i guess you would be absolutely correct.

i think "smart" comes in a few forms but doesn't determine the quality of conversation you have with another person. If you're trying to relate with someone who doesn't have similar knowledge then maybe you're not that "smart" to begin with. If you feel distraught because you have a deeper understanding topics other than politics and religion and cant relate, then i equally should share the same emotion because im sure i have a deeper understanding about getting pussy and having multiple 3 sums.

Life is an ongoing pursuit of knowlegde but i don't have much tolerance for condescending, pompous assholes.

Like i always say... " Many genious' are ruled by a lesser" - me (im sure somone has said something similar in a smarter way ^_^)

hell, maybe one day we can do that dr.who thing and just download info into our brains.

What a feat that would be, but with something as astonishing as that may sound...That would, theorectically, split people into groups. ( two factors that would apply would most likely be poverty and religion). I.E middle east and africa. Some people in their 50's still dont know how to read and you already know how humans deal with things they don't understand. (I.E women accused of witchcraft and wrongfully killed during the 18th century, which believe it or not still exsist in today!)

The day computers discover/create something themselves without the human cognition, is when tech singularity has arrived. IMO

this is great. you guys are teaching me couple things. i like this. Im into technology and i just fell into moores law to determine when its best to purchase and sell tech products, even though the meaning is deeper. Tech singularity by vinge is a little difficult to grasp as i am curious on how that would affect humans. could be negative due to everything now-a-days being programmed through tech. Makes you think thought huh?
