He asked a moronic question. This forum gets less than 200 topics a month, that's less than 10 a day. If there's 10 new topics every day and 50% are web development, what problem does that cause? We don't need a totally new forum for 5 topics a day.

Nobody held a gun to your head making you act like a twat.

So you're saying I'm acting like a twat? I am defending someone that is being bashed on by other people making unprecedented accusations against someone they don't know.

He may not have presented it well, and I can agree to some extent that he should have worded it better. But where does "He probably doesn't even know how to program" fall into the category of an answer?

Your answer seems like the best. Besides of course the irrelevant parts. People will always at some time ask a "dumb" question in some forum or another. It's something we all get used to eventually. Some of us just don't bother to answer them, and I guess other people feel inclined to up their post count. If stupid questions really make you all that mad, then maybe taking a break from forums would be in good order. Unless you enjoy the extra stress.

I'm not here to insult any of you, and if you took offense to what I say...try reading it again. And remember, there is nothing worse about a stupid question than a stupid answer.

And that's as much as I care to say on the topic. Have a good day everyone.

Oh darn, I should learn to read XD. One's 5 min and the other's 3 min 1 sec...
I could probably shrink them down a bit though, if you're interested.

That "Man in the Smoking Mirror" is actually a pretty damned sweet song. But yeah I would have to chop it down. I have the software and right now I think I would use the part between 1:00-2:00. But I will have to listen to it a few more times to figure that out.

There is an update though, I still haven't found out about our webserver so I haven't really uploaded anything yet. So there are only a few songs on there right now. If anybody does want to play on the server check this thread...

http://smokers.nuclearfallout.net/forums /viewtopic.php?f=14&t=9753

The thread links back to NewGrounds for the song downloads and I will be updating it as I throw new music onto the server.

Thanks again for all the help so far you guys.

Heaven round 2

Yeah that is a cool song. Right now I am thinking because of file size I would have to chop it and/or compress it. I think I can get away with using the first 57 seconds.

Ok, so far I will be using

And allthough "To the Hilt" is a little too long, I had to download that one for myself...Good song buddy.

Source, if anyone wants the website let me know and I can pm you. We have a 24/7 office with no awp/auto and always start with 16k, a gungame server, a TF2 normal server, and a TF2 normal with custom maps on vote.

Also my internet is running a lot better now so I will try to review some stuff later today when I wake up. I work nights so I need my sleep n stuff mm'kay?

Yeah believe me I know that one. Before we started this new server, the old one would take about 15 minutes to get into just to play on for new players. But that is because donators had custom knife sounds, and we have a alot of donators. I figure I will just make sound packs and put them in our forums so newer players can get the sounds there instead of waiting to play.

Also hopefully my internet will be working decently by Monday so I will have a lot of music listening to do =D

Response to: Counterstrike Posted January 18th, 2008 in Audio

Ok blame earthlink you guys, I can't really review anything yet since I'm downloading at like 2kbps on dsl
>:X

But I had an idea, all songs chosen for the server are going into a thread for the server forums. I will be putting direct html links to yours songs on newgrounds so players can download them here instead of from the server. So hopefully people will like your stuff and come back for more. I do plan right now on taking at least 1 song from everyone in the first 4 pages(if this thread gets that far) that puts any suggestions on here for helping me out.

So thanks fellers =D

Response to: Counterstrike Posted January 17th, 2008 in Audio

Good songs Panda and Monkey. I still need to check out the rest of your pages though.

I have come up with a couple new things that I am looking for.

songs need to be between 1 second-3 minutes. Anything longer just wouldn't have time to finish.

I am looking for anything from really...any genre. It just needs to be a song where you would think, "Hey, I can shoot people to that!"

Response to: Counterstrike Posted January 8th, 2008 in Audio

Yeah pretty good stuff man. I'll have to let you know.

btw, For anyone that is interested in getting their songs up I will be giving credit to the authors and see if I can throw something into the console to let people know where to find you.

Any DnB stuff would be great too.

Counterstrike Posted January 7th, 2008 in Audio

As soon as I get my webserver up and running I will be looking for hardcore trance/industrial music for upload for the server.

Any of you that feel you have a great addition to add to it, let me know and I will get back to you here. I would prefer that you nominate your own music, but if you know of someone else's music please send me their profile/music page so I can get a hold of them.

Oxygen8 V1 help Posted March 11th, 2007 in Audio

Ok, so I bought this thing a while ago to mess around with and to this day I still can't get teh damned thing to work. I am hoping one of you has had some experience with this midi keyboard before and could give some useful info.

Here is the problem, windows will just plain not install it. It does seem to work fine, it powers up through the usb, and windows will detect an unknown device. So I open it up and try updating the drivers specifically to where I installed them. All I get is, "windows can not find drivers for this device."

I have gone to the website and downloaded all the newest drivers and they have given no salvation to my problem.

Now, I bought it used, so I am figuring, but hoping that it is not defective. I will eventually try hooking it up to another computer to see if this is the problem. My other concern is the way it is hooked up. I am using a Creative live 5.1 sound card. It has the game port input which is compatible with MIDI. So i have that plugged into my usb midi "OUT" plugin on the back of the keyboard(the midi cable has the game port input with "in" and "OUT" midi plugs coming from it), and the regular usb cable plugged into the keyboard back to my computer. There is an extra "IN" connector just hanging off to the side which I can not figure out what to do with. I am guessing it would go to a sound module of some sort.

Any help on this would be gladly appreciated.

Just posted WhenAngelsCry

I would have liked to do more with it, but the sounds were taking a bit of a toll on my system. So adding more could have been a crackly mess while trying to work on it. Pretty nice calm ambient song though.

that would probably be your best bet. as long as you have stuff you can use with it, like keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, windows disk, and other stuff. one thousand can get you a very decent setup. just dont bother trying to get something super flashy. fans cost up to like 20 bucks and hook directly to the power supply. so spending 200 on a thermaltake tower just because it looks cool would be unwise if your on a budget. just make sure you have a good power supply.

go to a computer store and talk to someone about what you want to do with it. they can guide you through all of your hardware and help you pick what you want. then you can get what you need, take it home and put it together. honestly if you could build something out of legos you can put a computer together. it is not rocket science. the hardest thing you would run into would be hooking up the hard drive load lights, and power/reset buttons.

and if that doesnt work for you you can always try a name brand like mac, dell, hp, e-machine...etc. etc.

Reason question Posted December 23rd, 2006 in Audio

after installation i was asked what input device was to be used for the program. I bought an oxygen 8 midi keyboard but it has not arrived yet and wanted to check out the program figuring I could go back and select an input later i chose "no input device". only problem is i can not find anything about how to change it. anyone else ever run into this?

lol how the hell do i stop this shit.

you certainly have a lot less clutter than i do. good tips on making a beat too. when i first started i think i made a beat in like 5 minutes. i didnt pay much attention to the tutorials and just kept adding and adding over time. which would explain why i have 8 different versions of sytrusfun.
