I was looking for a rollover springy button effect. I found about a billion tutorials n shit, but none of them seem to work in Flash 8, and the ones I downloaded didn't work when I copied them into a movie =(

Any sound? It's really easy to reduce the size of sound- and bitmaps, they're easy to reduce size. Tried Putfile yet? If you host it anywhere, we'll know the problem when we see it, and can be of more help.

Don't make a Fishy game but with bubbles, that's a terrible idea. Though seeing as though you got this far- lower the acceleration speed. So it takes longer to slow down. Fix the registration point as well, put it in the centre.

At what point does a Flash game get too big? I'm making this Flash game about people from school, me, mates- shit like that. It's mainly comedy/parody/awesome game. The main problem is that there are alot of bitmaps. The .Fla file is about 30,000 kb and the .swf is about 5, 600 kb.I've only finished three levels and a few scenes!

So, my questions are:

How can I lower the filesize?
What's considered as too big?
Does it effect anything if I use File> Save and Compact?

Metal Gear sounds =/ Posted March 2nd, 2006 in Game Development

So me and these guys from school are making this huge game- it has a parody of everything, including Metal Gear Solid. The reason I point that out is because I can't find any sounds from the game. I've seen a good few parodies here at Newgrounds and they all have that "DOOT DOOT! DOOT DOOT!" codec dooting sound, then the "beeyuw" electric shut off sound when the codec closes. Where do these come from? Seriously, I've scoured the web and they're near impossible to find. Anyone point me in the right direction?
