One time I had to milk one of our cats, not a lot, but just enough that it was uncomfortable for both of us.

Hope you like it, I couldnt color the whole background blue was gonna kill my marker -__-. PS. They are all pretty thick markers so it is pretty hard to keep everything in the lines especially when they warp into the paper.

That is pretty much totally adorable. The color scanned really really well :O Really reminds me of the old nes game I played a bunch of as a kid.

You totally should! It's great dude, be proud of your work! The important thing is that you worked hard, and that you learned while doing it.

Yeah, there are issues, the ear for instance, but it's not bad at all, especially for early work. Keep it up! Study anatomy, or at least artists who understand it, and paint everyday. Eventually you won't even realize you're using a program to paint anymore, it'll be as natural and pen to ink. Post more, keep us up to date!

Looking slick! I've never used conte pencils, in fact, I have so little official art training I've barelly used conte at all. If the 'lead' as soft as actual conte? Rock on, keep'm coming! :P

Response to: request a scout? Posted September 3rd, 2011 in Art

Broken Valley is your best piece. Keep up the hard work, and hang around, be social. Requesting to be scouted will get you a wrist slap, so expect that to be coming.

Keep up the landscapes, paint back to front, plan your image and know what you want your focus to be. Good stuff, keep it up and you'll be scouted when the time comes. :P I dig through unscouted stuff all the time looking for diamonds in the rough.

Stay cool and good luck!

Response to: Sprite Artist For Xna Game Paid Posted August 27th, 2011 in Art

Is this a side-scroller, bird's eye view? Scifi, fantasy? I assume 2d and not 3d. What size do the sprites need to be, and what is the final production res? Do you have the character designed as well? Any sample sheets of the concept to work from? What style do you plan the game to be, or are you basing that around this initial sprite set?

So you drew this 100% from scratch? No references or anything? I just wanna double check before my next post.

Response to: is this good art?? Posted August 13th, 2011 in Art

I'm probably not going to make any friends here, but the quality of the work is very inconsistent. The first picture is just a mess, I can't tell what is what. The second one is actually quite strong, good design, confident strokes. After seeing the first, really suspicious. The last seals the deal imo. The face is strong, a few other parts of the body, then you have those arms, kinda like links of sausage glued to the form.

Now you can deny, argue, etc etc, I don't care. I know. And you know. That's all that really matter. My advice is, well, keep doing what you're doing. Don't pass of copied or traced art as your own, but drawing from others examples is never a bad thing. You learn a short hand that other artists have already discovered. Drawing from life is better of course, but there is something to drawing form work that inspires you too.

Stay cool, keep it up, etc.

Way to be upfront dude. Of course I still clicked. =\

Response to: Bamboo vs Intuos vs Cintiq? Posted August 11th, 2011 in Art

I've never used a bamboo, but I have used a intous 2 12x12 and a cintiq21 ux.
The cintiq 21 ux is the best thing I've ever used.
The intous was pretty good too, but I could never go back to it.
The cintiq paid for itself in the first month. It nearly doubled my work time, not sure why but it did.
