My Mother died after a 4 year fight with brain tumors in December 2013. The tumors basically paralyzed her right side and she couldn't talk or do anything for herself. It got so bad my Dad left the year before.
My mother could basically make no conscious thought for herself except for the basic.

Months after she passed away, and I still don't know how to react. I've seen her grave like three times and I find going there is a waste, like its just a headstone.
Also she was the first death I've had to deal with, no one in my family has really passed away with me being at an age where it resonates.

Despite being Australian, I'm still reeling about the Trayvon Martin case and it the verdict is nonsensical. However, it didn't exactly make the news here in Australia, instead focusing on sports results of two opposing teams, then politics, then other bullshit. The news here seems to be purely "sports, sports, we hate Muslims, fuck boat people, old ladies turning 100 and some sad story about a family losing a dog." and it's awful.

It's not a case of reading alternative news because the news now doesn't appeal to what is interested, it's more a case of the fact the people don't give a shit about the riots in Turkey or what the fuck was going on in Libya, disappointing when the future relies on knowing what is going on.

So, I ask the multicultural people of NG to tell me the state of your local news station in your country. I know Fox news is already shit, but tell me more pls

Recently I've been trying to get into a CN show that a lot of people already know about, that is, Workaholics. I know I'm "late" but I haven't had CC as a channel in a couple years so this started to get known just as I was switching off. At first I was kinda skeptical but you know after watching an episode of it I thought, hey, this actually doesn't suck, in fact, it's kinda funny. So I looked up the show on the good old interwebs and found MailOrderComedy shorts that they did before Workaholics and I thought that though it was kinda weird, it was quirky and relate-able.
And really then I realized why I like Workaholics so much, it's the fact that I can really relate to its plot and that I probably fit the demographic better than the adults they try to spin the show off to. I'm a young, minimum wage worker who likes to slack off with his best friend at work, so much to the point that I'm surprised we aren't fired yet. Plus I can dig the acting, characters and the references and such. So far, it has failed to disappoint, though I have plenty of catching up to do. It's not the best show I've seen in a long time but its pretty damn good to me.
