4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsJust wanted anyone that looking at this post to know that as of this morning my project has been 100% funded! So, these buttons are a GO! I'm super pumped right. At this point anything else my project raisesis going to go to future buton designs, better printing, etc. Thanks anyone that helped out from here and if you haven't ordered a set just go back over to the original link and pledge a 5-er!
<p>
I'll keep this post updated in case anyone's interested.
The reason for the red in the areas around the eyes and the nose are because some of the vintage reference for this type of style used those same colors in those same areas. I just thought it would be different and I was looking something in my own style and artistic hand. Thanks for the critique. I appreciate it.
One of my pledge levels comes with a Halloween themed limited edition print. So, I've started working on the sketch of the piece and here it is. Gimme opinions.
That's the hope. I'm almost funded but for the money I'll be able to get 200 sets made so I'm not wanting to store 200 buttons in my garage for very long! HA!
Anyone else want to give me their opinion about this artwork or pin-backed buttons in general?
Kinsei01,
I tried a ghost but it just never looked like a ghost so it became a disconnect with the rest of the characters in the group. There was something about the shape of a ghost that didn't transfer well to a round format.
I also had the skeleton in white and the vampire in white, so another white character just wouldn't have stuck out that much.
Oh, if you (or anyone else) wants to see anymore or my artwork you can go here:
Thanks big-jonny!
Any opinions about buttons in general?
I've been working professionally as an illustrator/designer for 7 years now and I've had some success at it. I've even had my work sold in Walmart and Target but I've always been doing artwork under someone else's direction. I figured I'd try my hand at self merchandising and selling my own art items. I'd love to get a letterpress print created of this artwork as well. We'll see how successful the project turns out.
Ok, I know it's almost summer so this artwork is VERY early but I'm looking for critique and possible feedback from anyone that likes this style of Halloween artwork for inclusion in a 1" Pin-Backed Button project I've got going on over at kickstarter.com
I know people will immediately be thinking I'm looking for people to go buy my pin sets over at kickstarter and start screaming about trying to do some selling on here but if you go to the link you'll see I'm almost 100% funded so I'm not desperate for backers. I'm honestly looking for opinions on the artwork itself and whether or not the idea of buttons in general is still a viable trend for merchandise or has this look or merchandise been played out?
If you want to see the project over at kickstarter.com and buy a set just click the link and go on over.

However, I'm posting the artwork here in the post because I don't want to be accused of panhandling or whatever you call it when you do it in a forum.
I'm looking for and appreciate anyone's critique and I hope you like the artwork.
