Most people realize that yes, more time=better game. The whining is a form of catharsis, pretty much "awww, crap, got my hopes up" Usually it's nothing more serious than voicing disappointment.

I think I may buy this though. I never bought the original because I wasn't a big fan of the demo, and there were better games coming out at around the same time. If the rumored retail price of $40 is correct, I'll probably take the plunge this time.

It's a pretty enjoyable action title so long as you aren't expecting anything really OMG AWESOME. Just think it's a big insult to everyone who actually bought the game such as myself.

So yeah, why is it always luck that propels heroes to the end sometimes?

Well, it comes from an interesting chain of logic. If the hero is too badass, has too many guns, and is way too smart, the game comes off as boring. It's all about the conflict. However, in the rush to counter this effect, many game writers go overboard, and end up having to constantly write the character out of shitty situations. Too many times, and this ends up happening.

Mine was in Gears of War 2, I was so cooked up to fight something about 10x bigger than General RAAM, but end up using the satellite on it.

Well, what did you really expect, Delta Squad to rush down and fight the thing with their chainsaws? It's the thing that made sense.

If you mean by being able to destroy everything in a painfully average shooter, than yes. I think Half-Life 2 is the most realistic shooter for it's painstakingly detailed graphics, advanced weapons, damage taken as well as the HEV suit and radiation, and of course, the physics.

Because shotguns can fire 2 rounds at a time, MP7's with grenade launchers, and magic suits that make everything feel better are totally realistic.

There's an actual reason FPS and TPS's are getting popular. They all pretty much use the same control scheme, so it's very accessible. Get in, get your shoots and get out. Everything else is a bonus.

True that, it's all down to honour and things like that.

The thing is. the more advanced killing weaponry gets, the less honor has to do with anything in war. As soon as semi automatics and automatic weaponry became commonplace, it was almost nonexistence. It's now merely kill or be killed.

It only really gets repetitive if you let it. Gotta vary the playing styles every once and a while, experiment.

Fucked up Fallout 3? Says you. Vast public opinion says otherwise., As for a proper remake for a Star Fox game, gonna sadly have to agree and say that doesn't seem likely. It also seems nintendo itself doesn't want a pure StarFox game, seeing as we haven't had one since 64
