This is one of the coolest themes ever!
I love Newgrounds. You have a lot to be proud of. And I'll keep returning whenever I have something that I'm proud of as well.
I think it's easy to get a bit lost on the Internet these days, because you have the potential of make a living off of it if you're lucky. But it was never really about the money to begin with, was it? Because if it was there would certainly be easier ways to go than being an Internet animator.

Ahah, that should be an actual thing. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that can happen to.
Also, a bit of a reminder as to one of the things you're fighting for, should you win and chose to go for the trophy!!
It's totally awesome, whenever the light shines in, it reflect a bunch of rainbows into my apartment. Rainbows are awesome.
Thanks a bunch for the monthly 3rd! I think that's a first time for me
And i'm really glad to see Bill get the prize, it was so awesome to see Sweetest in it's final form at last : D
He made it the pro round and ultimately lost out to Hikarian, who went on to win NATA 2012.
Ohh Tom, it wasn't that long ago! Only 2013.
I'm really amazed at all the entries this year as well though - It's been so much fun to judge, but also quite a difficult task. There are so many that I want to see on to the next round!!
I like the idea, but couldn't the Speed Painting genre be added to the Art Portal instead? I know it doesn't normally support movie files, but I feel like it rather belongs there, so maybe it could be worked around.
To me it seems like in the voters do not take genre into consideration in the Movie Portal, and I don't think that there is anything wrong with that as such. But because of this I think that speed paint art and time-lapses wouldn't be recieved that well there, just like trailers usually aren't.
Could be cool though.
Here's another thing.

Gotta love those themes. Excited to see how this'll turn out
Lots of interesting submissions have come up these last couple of days - Thanks for the daily 2nd, peeps! I'm glad that some liked my animation.

Huuh, interesting. There are quite a lot of soundtracks that are based off of somewhat negative feelings, so I guess the comedians are going to have a challenge on their hands. That, or we are going to see a lot of contrapuntal music.
Looking forward to seeing how this turns out! =)

Cool! Last year I got 16th place in this open round, sooo... there's an improvement I guess. Good luck to the 32 who made it to novice. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out :)
I'm going to go ahead and publish this thing now:

How's everyone else's entries coming along?
Well, there's no shame in getting 5th place on a day like today - lots of awesome entries :D
Hey, thanks - my first daily 1st! Though, considering how much time went into making "PHASE ONE", I feel like that one might have deserved the trophy more...

Talk to you guys in seven days!
Just how many people in this have exams to concentrate about? Oh well - my exams are just about over :D

Thanks! I may test it out soon with a little motion comedy-comic-short-thingy :P

Jagondudo - for future video stuff you should try prepping it as an H.264 MP4 and uploading a 1080p video. You will want to get the compression to something manageable for web viewing. Right now we don't process the videos on our end but we're setting up a processing server to do that (so there are good web, mobile, etc. formats available).
I wouldn't mind getting access as well! Though it will probably be a little while before it's really relevant for me.
I'm getting this vibe that everything has to be made in flash on Newgrounds, because that's what most people do, but isn't that just because it's the easiest thing to work with when it comes to swf files? It would be fun to experiment with a project made with TVPaint, After Effects and Photoshop :)

Kind of looking around at different ways to set up a good story. Is this one of those books that helps with that? Can it be translated into making a short?
Anyone else have some recommendations for some relevant readistuff? Concept, delivery, storyboard, setup... you know, about all those kinds of things? :)

Italics are evil, force is bad... but inspiration is good :D

Nooooo...! I wouldn't want to be social! That would be disastrous!
But it is nice hearing the thoughts of other animators :)

Still going to haunt these threads for now. It's the first time I've been active in a forum, and as Tom said, this has a really nice vibe to it. It's almost like... What do you call it? Friendship...?
