<insert new to flash remarks here>
I know a bit of programming in Java and C, so I reconize most of the action script commands.
What I am trying to do is figure out how to just add in a pause to my flash animations. I know I could just drag it out as still frames on the story board, but I don't want to do that. I have tried just using "for(i=0;i<99999;i++;)" but that just seems to cause the flash to lock and eats up resources. I know there has got a be a AS command or some easier way to pause a movie for a set period of time. Any help of even links to some GOOD AS help pages would be greatly appreciated.

That does ring a bell.
He was abombnation back then just use a waybackmachine or archive website and post the top 50 exp users page to find out/
If you uuse that you see Ht and pimp al lot the web archive doesn't go back enough to show the first level 3o.

Just thought I would add my knowledge, but as far back as I can remember -Bomb- did reach level 30 at some point in hte beginning. Because I do remember seeing his name with the rocket icon that he also used in his avitar pic. But I don't think he was the first to reach level 30, however I do beleive he might have been the 2nd or sometime after that.

Response to: Spamming NG with Outwar links! Posted April 18th, 2003 in NG News

It's hard to believe that even after Wade making this statment days ago, people are still posting outwar links. I just blew the whistle on one portal entry and had it deleted. The entry had a .2kb size too, how dumb do they think people are?

Response to: should i make another skate game? Posted April 15th, 2003 in General

NO MORE SKATE GAMES!!!
Maybe you weren't around here a few years ago, but at that time the portal was being flooded with really bad and cheesey skate boarding games. But when Tom revised the site for the bam/saves, 90% of them got deleted.

Response to: A Solution to the Outwar Problem Posted April 15th, 2003 in General

I Like the idea of not being able to post on the BBS till you reach a certain level. That way it makes people work for it and SOME people respect things a bit more when they have to do some work to get it. At any rate it would keep people from just creating new accounts here to spam up about outwar or anything. Chances are they would forget about spamming this place if it took a week and some work to be able to use it.

Here's an Idea!!! Posted April 15th, 2003 in General

Follow the rules!!! Wow what a neat idea, you know what, if you follow the rules you don't even have to worry about getting banned. And if you even suspect you might get banned for doing something.. Then don't do IT btw read wade's post about baning

Thought I would post the reasons why the gif isnt' real.
1) Real blood is a darker red more of a marroon brownish color.
2) There is a lot of bone in a human skull, and it doesn't break easily. But you would still see chunks of bone
3) Do you really think someone would really do that and make a gif out of it?

If you've ever seen the inside of a persons head, you would know it's not real.

Response to: Experiance Points Posted April 6th, 2003 in General

I could swear that someone just asked this question a few days ago, but anyways. One of the other ways people got odd numbers in their exp was way back wehn the portal first started using exp, you only got one exp per vote but you could deposit your points whenever you wanted. (still max 10 per day) So at that time some people would deposit only 6 or 4 or 7 or whatever, and thus not have a 0 as their last exp digit.

SO what he said was simular to what the nazi's wanted, but seriously think about the meaning behind the words. Afterall all other animals in the world won't mate with any of the sick/deformed/diease riddin of their kind. It's because we do, that we have way too many people in the world, and that dieases and other things spread.

Some people would like to think so. But technology and computers only do what you tell them to. So it's very good possibility that we could just not be using it in the right way, or looking in the wrong places, or even not looking for the right clues.

Response to: Moon Landing: Real or Fake? Posted March 31st, 2003 in General

I would believe some of the documentaries about the moon landing being fake if it were not for one thing that they forget to mention. If you had half a brain back then and really wanted to know for sure, all you had to do was go down to your local hobby store, buy a high powered telescope and you could see the spaceship on the moon!! DUH!!! And there were a lot of people who did that who can tell you it was real.

Response to: outlaw religion? Posted March 30th, 2003 in Politics

Religon is more like a quideline for how to live your life. Laws to follow, ways to act, right and wrong, reason for exsistence, some omni-powerfull being who will spank you if you don't follow the rules, an excuse to say you will be in better place when you die, etc. etc. So by taking away relgion you take away all that. You would have to replace it with something. What I think you are really getting it is what would the world be like if everyone believed the same thing. Now if that were the case, then yes there would probably be a lot less wars, etc. But I think for myself, therefor I am not Christian....

Your not going to find a program that you can just run and forget about hackers. But you can come close with a decent Firewall program. But like someone said above, any firewall program you get will require you to learn a bit more about what's going on in your computer. And ofcourse the other best way to protect against hackers is to NOT use MS Outlook or Exchange. A mjority of hackers gain access to your system through a program you downloaded though e-mail. And 95% of all e-mail virus only work through Microsoft e-mail clients.

I have an old version of the compiler and a few books on it. The compiler comes with a few programs that go over a lot of the functions in pascal. If I can find it I could e-mail you them or the whole program if you want. It's Borland's Turbo Pascal ver 4. E-mail me if your interested.

Has anyone had any psycic abilities or visions or daydream even happen once. Cause I know I had at least some little ones. How about you?

There's a lot more to psycic abilities then just dreams. Like those little coincidences where you avoided danger by a hair just because you had that feeling not to do something. Or knowing that something was going happen that you would have know way of really knowing. One thing I can say is that you can make them happen more often by just being more aware of what's going on around you, rather then focusing on one thing. The more you open your self, the more you will see.

wend
that always seemed to work with animation
(syntax might not be correct, been awhile since I used qbasic)

Not a bad start for a personal web page. Just don't over do it on the extras, like music, and javascript goodies. A lot of people don't like that kind of stuff. And becarefull with the midi's. A 300kb midi file will make a page take a lot longer to load for people on dial-up
