Here's a list of studies: http://www.vpc.org/studyndx.htm
There are many, many of them.
Here's a favorite of mine: http://www.vpc.org/studies/gunownership.pdf
"[G]un ownership has been declining over the last 35 years and the 9/11
terrorist attacks did not reverse that trend."
How's that sound?

'Scuse me? I said that Israel provides more rights for its citizens than any other nation in the region...
Look here: http://www.freedomhouse.org/inc/content/pubs/
fiw/inc_country_detail.cfm?country=6985&pf
it says that, and I'll quote it "Political Liberties: 1" and "Civil Liberties: 2"
Freedom House says "Each pair of political rights and civil liberties ratings is averaged to determine an overall status of "Free," "Partly Free," or "Not Free." Those whose ratings average 1.0 to 2.5 are considered Free, 3.0 to 5.0 Partly Free, and 5.5 to 7.0 Not Free (see Table 3)." and that "Each point total corresponds to a rating of 1 through 7, with 1 representing the highest and 7 the lowest level of freedom." Israel is freer than most nations in the world.
While I'm not going to pick one side over another, because both are fucked, to be blatantly one sided is just idiotic.
To be blatantly neutral is silly. There is ONE side that is the proven choice.

What would that do to the economy, again? Besides that it would raise the incomes of high-school dropouts, that is.
Ok, if this study has been cited, I apologize.
A Yale study states that "Delta-9-THC produces a broad range of transient symptoms, behaviors, and cognitive deficits in healthy individuals that resemble some aspects of endogenous psychoses." That tells me something...
Clearly there is some evidence here.

Typical...But in this case, the so called "states rights" and "small government" republicans will claim that abortion should be regulated by federal law. Regardless, if he's really honest about this, he wouldn't be SO SO SO terrible...
To make anyone who works legally: He wants to get rid of the IRS and wanted to abolish the income tax.
Uh, that's bad. Bad, very, very bad.
Taxes are important for revenue, people!
Thank you to the above critical poster for making me search around the report.
Lookie here at what I've found...
On Pg. 22 of the GAO report a chart says that the homicide numbers committed were about 1% of the crimes, about 5,992 murderers/killers/accidental killers etc. So, interesting, no? In the US, there were 16,137 VIOLENT intentional murders since 2006 (it was updated in 2006) according to http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius_04/offenses_repor ted/violent_crime/murder.html. How many more were non-intentional? From that, we can eventually figure out what percent of murders were committed by illegals...
While watching the democratic debate this sunday (June 3, 2007), I was surprised by the number (100%) of the candidates who would get rid of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT). So, I'm very much against it – It's a discriminatory policy and detrimental to our armed forces.
Remember, retired US Army General John M. Shalikashvili said "I now believe that if gay men and lesbians served openly in the United States military, they would not undermine the efficacy of the armed force" in the
NY Times. My view on this is really one based on two factors, discrimination and utility. Look, we're stretched thin, and the removal of Arabic translators who happened to be homosexual is not serving the mission! It seems to me like General Peter Pace is being silly – he's really ignoring it when he says: "As an individual, I would not want [acceptance of gay behavior] to be our policy, just like I would not want it to be our policy that if we were to find out that so-and-so was sleeping with somebody else's wife, that we would just look the other way, which we do not. We prosecute that kind of immoral behavior,"
Peter Pace isn't paying much attention, clearly.
Thoughts on gays in the military?
I was a big fan of Fruitopia...until they got rid of it.
*Tear*??
These numbers interest me. I'd want to look into them deeper, and while I like the idea of letting illegals into the country on a legal basis, this does shock and surprise me – I'd always been, and still am, on the side that argues that illegals just want a job and will work hard once they have opne.
Who has come out the strongest? Who is winning here (for those commenting during the debate)? Who won (after the debate)?
So far, I'm not sure who's the winner, but I'm surprised by this Gravel guy. He's pretty cool.
Apologies for the double post:
I meant to say that Israel provides the most rights for its citizens of all nations within the middle east.
Go look up Freedom House and look at this (http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/irf/2002/1399 7.htm) too.

One nationalism involves killing people in death camps. Can you tell me which one?
Both entities have used propoganda in the media and acts of terror to achieve their goals.
Every nation uses propaganda. Few use terror. Israel is not one of the second category.
Both entities are greatly secular and atheistic in nature
You're an idiot...
Both entities have nothing but contempt for people who do not think and act as they do and have even gone out of their way to either expel, detain, or outright extermination of these "non-comformists".
Israel provides the most rights for its citizens of all creeds.
Both entities have attacked and persecuted the REAL Jewish people.
Real? How do you define that? The settlers were moved after they disobeyed legal government orders.
Zionist Israel and Nazi Germany:
Same shit; different asshole.
Even if that was true, you're a turd either way.
30,000 gun deaths per year.
How does that sound?
In Connecticut, there's a bunch of very poor cities (Hartford, Bridgeport, for example), and yet there are how many gun deaths per 100,000 people? In 1996, there were 0.17 deaths per 100,000 persons.
Connecticut gets an A- from the Brady Campaign, meaning that it has strong anti-gun laws.
By the same methodology, let's look at Mississippi. It gets an F from the Brady Campaign, meaning that it has weak gun laws. There were, in 1996, 1.48 deaths per 100,000 persons.
Both states have about the same population, yet have different gun laws – drastically different.

B) If we're talking medical necessity, why are we giving a slow-acting pill to people with nausea? Seems counterproductive.
It gets used, that for sure. It's more efficient at delivering the THC than smoked marijuana.
All I'll say to that is that Fox is so biased it's not even funny:

I see no reason to believe that (a.) a rampaging government would come into power here and (b.) that any action we as individuals take would stop it (it only worked in "Red Dawn"). Not to say that b means that you shouldn't fight an oppressive government, but once a dictatorship is in power, well, yeah.
How was that movie, by the way?
It is true that one has developed, but if we go back to pre-civil war times, there's no such thing.
Anyway, gun culture or not, gun control is necessary. I haven't seen one rational explanation for opposing regulation of firearms yet, and I don't expect to.

But seriously...Israel isn't anything like Nazi Germany. It doesn't disenfranchise people at random, after all.
There is no indigenous American gun culture, that's just how it is. Yet today, we have to deal with the NRA...Go figure.
