First off i'd like to say worry about how good the computer is not how good the OS is.
If you get a big enough HD or get an external HD then you can just put both OS on one computer and get the best of both worlds. There is no reason not to.

Nope. A mac vrs a pc with the SAME specs and amount of software it comes with are pretty much the same. Granted to the average consumer macs are a bit more expensive.

My only problem is that whenever I've used PC before, I felt like I couldn't get the damn thing to do anything I wanted.

Pc's are harder than macs to learn but in the end the fact is learning either of these things only takes some getting used to. (A day or more depending.) There both simple things to learn.

I've heard it's much easier to use a Mac for "artistic" uses like Photoshop and Illustrator, and thats what its used most for to begin with.

I already carry a lot of stuff around with me, I don't want something weighing me down if it doesn't have to.

Unless your 1 foot tall or carry a load so huge that if a feather fell on it much like our favorite cartoons. It'd all come crashing down.

You can carry either of these.

Overheating used to be a big problem for the Macs, but they seem to have done a good job at updating that and the battery life.

There fine now. That was a temporary problem. If you get a mac with the problem just return it and get a new one. Same thing with pc's.

I'd like to hear more on what people have to say on this matter, because I'm still resistant on getting a PC, and my bf won't let down. I don't think he'll let down even if i got a Mac, but I'd like more opinion.
