The fishing event takes place in Stranglethorn vale which is very far from you, but! if you take the Zeppelin to Durotar and then get the boat from Rachet in Barrens that will take you their.

Also you can enter the Alliance territory... just dont expect a warm welcome especially if your on a PvP server.
