fbf is frames and keyframe displayed in a manner in which you draw everyting in everyframe tweaking it till its fluid. first you pick out what you have and what you want to happen. (i use 24fps-frames-per-second)theres normally a start mid and end position then theres in betweens to them. so lets say i have an open hand but i want it to be a closed fist. i'd make sure if im using flash (sorry only program i know) i'd use onion skin to see before and after my frames. then i'd draw an open hand like a high five then a clawed looking hand like it was going to scratch somethin then a closed fist.

so then comes in betweens...open hand_half clawed-half open_clawed-half closed half clawed_closed. then theres frame tweaking because some parts of the animation happen faster than others. you dont want everything to be even.. so like look at your actual hand for refrence and try to simulate your hand closing the way you want it. like a fast open hand-balled fist or a slow open hand- balled fist.

a slow one is going to show every position with the closing actually having more of the frames. a fast one will have most of the closing with least frames. and adding more frames is whats goin to show long. less frames shows shorter time the eye gets to see it. it really only takes 12 frames per second to trick the eye into thinking its moving but double everything and put it on 24 it will make it smoother in my oppinion. anway way take out or add frames for a little bounce play around with it to see what looks the most natural.

At 5/20/11 03:16 AM, Rodneythwealthy wrote: hmm, so do you recommend I draw graphics using flash or should I stick with external programs? or it depends on art style?

Still I want an opinion from a flash user who bought a drawing tablet even tough they have/had no graphic designing skills, also which drawing tablet (as in Wacom or w/e) do you recommend a flash hobbyist to buy?

My bad I have flash and a wacom bamboo wacom is the go to company for tablets I think bamboo touch and pen has the pen with eraser I made the mistake of only getting pen which is no biggie but the erase made it that much more pencil likeoh and it never hhurts to have external programs there's tricks you could pull of if you had skills with other programs helping was the kinda animator that dislike using the mouse that I would draw on paper scan it to computer then trace in flash but tablet cuts down on drawing time exes out some extra steps I recommend tablet if your not fond of mouse ps soorry for no grammar on phonne its annoying

omg whats with ermac hes like a fuckin yoshi now. i dont remember him being that beasty b4. did anyone notice the storyline? like raiden decided to save smoke then the lin kieu were capturing tundra aka sub-zero lil bro which goes by sub-zero now. smokes all like lets save him. but raiden is like no we cant so now theres a cyber sub zero?! okay fine but that was a dick move raiden... save 1 but not the other i wanted to see all the len kieu robotted up. also i like how since tobias didnt work on this mortal kombat, sonya looks like she trained under china from wrestling and noob saibot is just noob.

Response to: How should I draw my stuff? Posted May 19th, 2011 in Game Development

if you can draw go with tablet. theres a little learning curve to using the tablet. after the learning curvet it gets pretty useful. imagine drawing on a pice of paper with a pencil but instead of looking down at the paper you look up at your computer monitor. now understand that you have to stay within the designated box for the pen to be responsive. well thats what tablet feels like! once you get used to that then it becomes second hand nature to draw with.

tablet questions??? Posted March 10th, 2011 in General

so i got the bambo pen but for some reason its not the one i was expecting. the pen didnt have the eraser on the end like the old graphire ones had. i believe i got the wrong one so my question is which one comes with the eraser? also i ordered the pen with the eraser because i lost my pen and it dosnt function with this tablet. i mean the pen does but the eraser dosnt. lastly did anyone run into a problem with the pressure and tilt buttons not appearing in flash anymore? if so how did you fix this?
