Problem is that when it's drying I'll have to use my lamp for light.

I don't see the problem. Use the lamp for about an hour, or just leave the house alone for a couple of hours, and It'll be dry when you return.

I might be able to do electric effects on the wall around the switch.

That would be cool, just make sure it matches the lightswitch

If you want to do this for fun, then let people know that you are willing (and able) to pull it through. Right now, with just that short description, it doesn't give that much of an impression. Especially if one will have to put hours, and hours of work into it.
