Well if you enjoy drawing so much, it shouldn't matter if it was showcased in the art portal. And if you enjoy drawing and draw alot, chances are, you'll get good enough pretty fast.
If that's not good enough, you can always create your own personal art thread. There's no restrictions to make threads.
From what I've seen though, the only image you've posted on the forum is that one, and to be honest, it doesn't look very good in my eyes. Try spending more time on it, study anatomy and try to color it so that it looks more finished!

HMMM?
Just making sure, is this a new round?
Because I noticed glacier introduced a new character.
If so, I think a new thread is in it's place.
And I would add the rule "all posts must include images" or something like that ...

On a more serious note, I think you should outline his bdy and fix the shading on the walls in the background

I think there will be a break from doubles for a little while, there's tons of other stuff to participate in!
Just when I promised myself to join the next one :P
Oh well, I suppose it's for the best

Oh come on now,
Luxembourg, BlackmarketKraig and J-qb all gave you a pretty fair and throughout comment. And others have been trying to help.
Please don't quit like that; Instead, strive to improve. Read the content of the criticism you get and show that you have improved since last drawing.
As Test-Object said, you have the possibilities to develop a fresh and exiting style!
Don't give up because a few people said they didn't like it. That's their opinion. Do respect it and understand what they mean, but choose for yourself if you agree.
Now; grab a pencil, draw, have fun and improve!

Just a reminder that this thread is still here and you don't have to spend hours on it!
After all, it's all about having fun!
Also I read in animators survival kit that bouncing should be done so that one frame shows the ball just touching the ground, next one shows the ball completely squashed against the floor, and the next one shows the ball in the air not touching the ground at all!
Any views or opinions on this?
Personally I think it is a good little piece of advice!
Next time spend at least half an hour

The leftmost one has way too small eyes! Make them bigger and more animu!
I think the co-authorship should be revised at a later point to make sure everyone gets a fair chance t be extra promoted.
I also think the final list of co-authors should not be finished untill like the day before madness day.
Theres still loads of time. People can still spend much time and effort into this collab.

when you say animating, I assume you in fact mean animating.
To make a character walk into a room, simply create a room with a couple of doors and make the character walk in from that door!
Now in order to do that, you need to divide your door into two layers, one on top of the character, and one below, like so:
Layer1: Door covering the character
Layer2: Character
Layer3: Door behind the character
If you're thinking about a game, then you're in the wrong forum. Instead ask in the flash forum
But I'd do it by animating a walk cycle, putting that in a movieclip, and make the character walk where you want him to walk

Thirdly, you need three pieces in the art portal to be able to be scouted.
I'm pretty sure you need four ...
At 9/8/10 07:54 PM, Mark-er wrote: You only really have two options, 24 and 30. 30 is the best because their are more frames so obviously it will be smoother, while 24 is the lowest you can go and still have an acceptable frame rate when animating in 2's. Basically, lazy people animate in 24, elites animate in 30.
animating in 2's means you're using 12 fps, so if you're doing that, I suggest setting the frame rate to 12, to avoid confusion.
Now, personally I think 12 is a bit low of a frame rate to use, but I also believe 24 is a bit much and requires too much work. 30 fps are the thing if you're doing games, but if you're animating, I'd suggest going somewhere between 12 and 24.
The Swain uses/used 18fps

We don't have any art schools :(
Meaning we will have photography classes and stuff like that.
Although it would be awesome to attend an art school, I think it's gonna be really exiting to get to try out all these different kinds of medias. (Flm, design, photography..)
I've got a question though. what is an art school like?
Like, what kind of classes do you have?
At 9/8/10 07:43 AM, ganuganu wrote: can i use this effect for punch for my next anim....is it looking nice......here's the link.....
http://filebox.me/view/qefaeah16
Well, first of all, to me it looks more like a sword strike rather than a punch. On top of that I don't think it's perfectly synced with the motion either. (or at least that's what it looks like since he moves his arm down after hitting)
Also, again, I'd suggest using more anticipation.
Look at this example. Notice how he doesn't get to the action before the very last frame. More anticipation would result in the punch look much more powerful than any effect.
The good thing about school is that you get to draw in classes and the teachers'll applaud you for it!
Maybe it was because we had about typography and media design ...

after selecting the brush tool. Go to properties layer and check smoothing.
If it's set too high that could cause your problem
