Hair is so gross it's okay to hate it.

The only "natural" ways of removing hair are destructive and will damage your body maybe without even removing the hair you want gone so bad.

You could use laser though. Pay someone to shoot lasers at your body and it permanently remove it. Who cares if it's natural - electricity, internet, and cars are all constructed by humans, not the nature.

I like my pizza hot, but I'm very okay with mozzarella or champignon mushroom and the likes

Norwegian first, English second.
I often find myself in situations where I'd have an easier time expressing myself in English though.

That's a bit of a contradiction, but I get what you mean. I don't mean to offend you when I'm calling bias - Everyone's perception will always be, as is mine. In the end, if you cannot agree on personal perception altering your view, why don't we agree on the others. I'm sure the rest of my points are fairly solid.

What I meant to say is rather than basing your opinion on one thread, I'm guessing at some point you developed this idea, and over time have emphasized posts supporting your idea more than those that contradict it. Not purposefully of course, but subconsciously supporting the idea.

As for the homosexual angle, I have come across various user accounts who are homosexuals, and even transexuals.

Yup.

As for forum users, they seem to be more prominent then heterosexual users, at least from what I have seen.

I believe there's three major thing causing this.
It's the internet, so people naturally have a lower threshold for sharing personal things. For example a person who is considered by his irl friends to be straight, can tell us he's bi without it having consequences for how his friends sees him.

Edgier and more controversial stuff leads to (heated) discussions, constantly bumping the thread upwards. This point is influenced by the point above in the way that the people in arguments would in some cases not come forward as extreme or at all irl.

The third cause I believe is cognitive bias, as I've explained earlier. Personally I haven't taken too much of a notice in the amount of people that come forward as gay or bi, and since we're browsing the same bbs, I can only assume that's the reason.

You've fallen into the trap of framing the trush to support your theory. The fact that you mention crossdressers is a sign of this and derives purely from what you've seen in this thread. Continuing on this, if you opened the thread with a pre-determined idea of how the NG forum is, that idea may have been supported through confirmation bias.

You should take into account that most discussion comes with controversial ideas. So when someone posts something that sparks discussion, the more extreme and opposing arguments from both sides comes forward. If you're in agreement with one part, you're more likely to think the other part is weird, dumb, or in some cases "pure fucking creeps". This can make it seem so that the general opinion is more extreme than it actually is.

There's my theory anyway

To put that in perspective. Since the beginning of man kind till now, we're only 1/2000 towards 1 billion years. We'll be sending our kids to the hyperspace-bus by the time earth becomes inhabitable. Not saying technological advancements are overrated or unnecessary, but I figure if you see what we've accomplished just the last ten years, I'd say we're on a good, steady course.

As for the black hole itself, I stumbled upon this a few days ago, thought I'd share it.

Some scientists have actually predicted a soon-to-be decline in the world population. There's an article about it here, but one of the main points is that the time it took to add to the 7th billion is for the first time lower than the previous billion.

As far as I can tell, the arguments in this forum tend to have good reason or some sort of merit. I'm more concerned with empty discussions derailing to "You're dumb - No *you're* dumb!", or circle jerking in general.

I guess that depends on how much effort you're willing to put into it.
Besides it's not like you're using all your desktop space for icons anyway.

Rainmeter skin to track top posts! Posted January 26th, 2013 in General

I'm using Rainmeter to keep track of the sites I visit most frequently, so I thought I'd make one to track this forum. All it does is stick the topmost five threads on your desktop, and clicking them will take you to the last page of that thread.

DOWNLOAD LINK HERE

The font I've used is called 232 MKSD Round, and is available for download at the bottom of this page. If you haven't got it already, you'll need to download and install Rainmeter to use it. After that, all you need to do is extract the forum tracker skin in the "skins"-folder.

Normally this is found at: C:\Users\ (username goes here) \Documents\Rainmeter\Skins

Now you'll probably have to load it through Rainmeters program thingy or something, but I'm sure you clever boys are capable of figuring that one out yourself.

The skin is semi-customizable. I'm not gonna bother going into details, but most of the text alternatives can be found under [StyleText] and of course the background is easily replaceable as it's just to swap the file and keep the name. I probably won't respond to most people having trouble figuring out how to make it work, so if that's the case your best bet is their manual, or google.

Here's how it looks on my screen:
