Just about never to be honest. I'm guessing it depends heavily on the local consensus regarding headline morals. Where I'm at we have an ethical code of practice that is made to protect people from being too exposed in the media, and in turn puts some off the edge off of the headlines.

I was thinking in a more general way. "The people" are the ones consuming the media. The journalists are just doing their job, it's not like they're orchestrating huge disasters to sell more. And just like there's good people as well as jerks in general - there's nice journalists and not-so-nice journalists. Some are looking to sell, while others are looking to inform. Attacking "the medias" is just pointless because it's an inevitable product of whatever media the general public is looking to consume.

Media wouldn't make edgy headlines if it didn't sell, so in the end you're the one buying and consuming it.

It goes from Nightly/UX - Aurora - Firefox Beta - Firefox
I have installed the latest stable Firefox version in case a nightly update breaks anything, but most of the time I just roll with UX.

I remember reading somewhere that Firefox actually updates about as often as the earlier builds, but it does it silently. I might be mistaken, but if not perhaps there is a way to make the earlier builds update silent?

Just about every day.
Cheese, Danish salami, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes with some basil and oregano is my usual recipe.

I actually enjoy it very much. I like what they did with the top window bar, and the fact that you can stick icon shortcuts that retracts on full-screen is kind of neat.

And of course the refresh/stop + retractable forward button that is the new standard.

I use Nightly UX.
It's basically the graphical beta, and has lots of graphical features that won't be in the official Firefox, or even the parallel nightly build for months.

All this of course, along with being a step forward in Firefox' MemShrink plan.

I'm sure some of you have lives outside of the NG BBS. What are your hobbies, how do you pass the time?

I can understand that. And it probably requires less effort to delete an account completely, rather than painstakingly going through the settings and removing what you don't want out there, especially if that account is inactive, or you don't need it.

However, with facebook you get benefits (mentioned in earlier post), and some of those benefits are unique to facebook because so many have a profile. I guess I didn't take in account privacy as a variable. I must say though, if I put having to adjust the settings, against deleting my account, facebook still wins in my book.

When I don't want to use facebook, all I have to do is not visit the page at that time. And I don't have an obsession with people staying active on facebook, there's usually a gap of 4-10 days between each time I visit the page. All I'm saying with "log-in-with-facebook" becoming a new standard for a bunch of sites, why take away the convenience?

It's not like deleting your account gives you anything but the bragging right to say "Oh hi, I deleted my facebook account", whereas not deleting your account gets you easier access to various information.

When in groups larger than four, I generally don't participate too much in conversation. Partly because most I've got to say gets mentioned anyway, so I wouldn't add much. Otherwise I try to be polite to everyone I meet, while having the mantra in the back of my head "Don't be retarded, don't do anything stupid".

Actually.
When they first presented the ecat, they claimed to be using cold fusion as power source. It caused a lot of commotion because cold fusion is something scientists have been working on for a long time. They then proceeded to never prove, or provide evidence for the fact that it was using cold fusion. I think now they've gone so far as to say it's not cold fusion, and they never claimed so. So what we have is basically a guy who says he has a magic box, but won't let anyone else look in the box.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of a private forum. Having leftover money to spend doesn't correlate to being a good poster.
I'm also worried about the superiority complex and "buying" social status issues that has been mentioned. I think it's important to be able to reach full functionality of the site without having to pay.

Perhaps a sort of ranking system that determines contribution to the site? Submitting creations, getting awards, stuff like that could determine contribution, and a supporter upgrade could be a boost to that stat?

I'm just thinking out loud, I think the NG staff has other higher priority projects at the moment anyway.

Problem with animated sigs is if the animation is anything more than a subtly sparkling graphic it draws attention away from the actual posts. That, and seizure sigs, but I'm sure mods will be set to handle those - which in turn puts more work to them.

Supporter perks for the forum also has the implication that buying the upgrade is more important for BBS-users than the rest, so any perks in general should probably be equally important for all kinds of users. Increased experience gain would be an example of that, as well as improved right to vote for monthly awards.
