I'm thinking I should go back a bit in my project and try to improve the animation in some areas because I'm getting lazy to fix them! I'm guessing by the time I'm done my part I'll have to remove some scenes because it is becoming too long. Goodness! Maybe it was a good thing after all to remove the dialog scenes.
*yawn* now, if you will excuse me, I have to catch up on some sleep here. Yah, refresh that brain of mine. And perhaps come up with fresh new ideas.
Well, don't take this negatively, but I could think of menus better than this. But don't get me wrong, I think its pretty good. I like how you make the words bounce when you place your mouse over the play button. Sprites come enter the scene in a nice fashion too. I still need a lot of practice with making my menus. So, from where I currently stand, I would say yours is better than mine.

Anyone?

lol, where exactly does it say that on the newground's rules and guidelines?
Anyway, I can only think of two possible religions. A religion with God, or a religion without God. I'm on the side with that says there is God. The problem here is that almost everyone seems to have a different point of view about God.
I'm a Reformed Baptist Christian and would consider myself being part Calvinist too.

Wow. I've never some of those poses of Mario before. Did you customize those yourself? Cool!
er...and about what you said about constant action, can there be exceptions?

okay, well, when I watch mine on high, you don't see those kinds of mistakes. Also, sometimes the v-cam movements downgrade the animation almost to a point it disgust me. But, lets see if I can fix this. Thanks for letting me know!:)
Ah ha! I know what the problem is! (I think)
When I viewed my work in low quality I then could see the spaces. Just to make sure my assumptions are right, were you viewing it low quality?
i like it it flows well and it still has humor in it that breaks the tension in the battle the only problem i see is that the background has space in between it when it starts to move fast oh and right click to change the quality
okay thanks! I'll go check it out and see if I can fix it. Interesting though, because I didn't see it have white spaces. Maybe if I....

How do you do that?
Oh, and here's my update. Finally! Its been about a month now. Please tell me what you guys think. If there is something you think I should correct or have a suggestion to make the battle better, please don't hesitate to tell.
Just a note, as you may appear, there is no dialog scenes in here. I actually like it as it seems to increased the pace. But, like I said before, its not quite as epic and humorous. But what the heck! Its battle collab, not a story collab.

And does nobody want to crit my part? :<
Well, like I said before, its pretty awesome. Except it seems to be lagging for me a bit. But it could be me because lately it seems that my internet sever has not be that quickly responsive. So, I'm not sure.
Whoa guys! Check this forum out!
Hmm.... I'll to think about that one for a bit. Its a good question though!
Maaaaan! It hasn't been a week yet and already I'm losing my inspiration again. If this continues on like this, I'm going to take drastic action with my Flash project! I'm going to try and make something random happen. If necessary, I'm going to have to delete some parts. I was hoping I could do some sort of light saber duel scene, but its taking a lot longer to do as oppose to doing a DBZ fight style.
Maybe its about time I give you guys an update.
AND, UPDATE!

Whoa! That's pretty sweet! You're quite the animator there, Mikey! It actually reminds me of this awesome series called Sonic Reversal. Of course, SMBZ too.
@Mikey
Okay, thanks a bunch! I very much appreciate that! I tell'ya man, I've learned a lot, but I still have much to learn.
@Traster
lol, I actually thought that was pretty funny at the part where Shadow says "didn't even break a sweat" after he hit Sonic away. I don't know why, especially when I've heard that line plenty of times. I think it was because you used it at a good time. But.......uh, don't get alarmed or discouraged or anything, but *cough* Are you going to get more closer views of the characters? I mean, its okay to have a far view, but I think there needs to be more change in the camera's perspective. Er.....right?
Please don't get mad at me. I'm only trying to help, not wreck your day. :)

Hey nice! How did you get your logo to move along with v-cam? (assuming you are using a v-cam of course) I tried to place it with my v-cam, but it disappears.
Hey, if you want to be in my mario battle collab you can use Marichu if you want. I'm opening a thread right now.
who or what is Marichu? You're starting the Mario battle collab already? Shouldn't we finish this one first?
At 8/5/09 11:17 AM, MikeyTheYoshi wrote:At 8/5/09 11:01 AM, Da-boi wrote: yea i gotta use a v-cam for my animations u cant get that good hard hit effect without itYou mean the shake of the vcam when some gets punched/punches?
That's a cool effect to do ;P
I like it a lot for its convenience. Instead of having to tween many layers, you only have to tween one with the v-cam and get same results, except maybe better! I'll tell'ya, the day I discovered that v-cam, it greatly boost my abilities to make better animation!

If I'm going to set music, and there are parts where you have to press the space bar, it could ruin the whole action thing.
Dang it! Alright then, I'll get right on to fixing that.
Also, don't forget to add a watermark to your flash so the viewer knew who made which part ;)
I'll get right on to that too!
At 8/5/09 12:11 AM, satanicgoomba wrote: Not take out the text but just make it not stop, so yeah, no scripting but still have the text just play itself FBF.
alright, but I'm not so sure if that's such a good idea. I mean, not everybody reads the same speed and I don't know if I will make the text go too fast or too slow. Well I guess I better test it out first on you guys. I'm thinking it might be easier if there were no text. Though my battle part won't seem as epic and humorous without the text. Man, I can't win either way!
At 8/4/09 11:21 PM, satanicgoomba wrote: By the way guys, After we are done this collab, I was wondering if anyone wanted to make a mario battle collab, pretty much same specs. I'll make a forum later on if anyone is interested.

yes....
I would like to be part of that collab. But I'm not so sure yet, I'm going to get pretty busy establishing in a new home in about a month, so I'm not sure if I'll have time to work with Flash. Especially when I'm going to search for a full time job. But we'll see. At the rate we're going, it seems that this collab will still be unfinished by the time I'm all settled in.
So maybe you could just not stop it and maybe change the words a little. Just play the text and if they miss it...
Cheesy sonic remark: Don't blink...
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. Are you saying that I should try and minimize text scenes? Or are you saying that I should forget the whole action-scripting for the text and disallow the viewers to proceed text when they want?
Well, the more I think about it, the more I feel that I should take my text scenes off. This seems a bit too risky so I'm going to take my dialog scene out. But, I'm going to make a copy of my part just in case maybe I can somehow have text. The only other good alternative I could do is to get a couple of voice actors.
What do you think, guys?
At 8/4/09 07:53 PM, satanicgoomba wrote: Guys, also I was thinking, I don't think that we should have text in our flashes because it may screw up the song or confuse some viewers into thinking it was a big story. IDK, just wondering...
Heh-heh, yah, funny you should mention that. I'm not so worried about the viewers being confused becuase I think I can get around that. But my main concern was the music too. I mean, I don't want to make it complicated for Mikey but I think the only way I may able keep my text scenes is to have a change in the music at that part. And then maybe resume the previous song before that once it gets back to the fighting scene.
There is only one way to find out if this works out, we need to test it.
Okay, so here's my bio page. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it as it is though. I might want to spice it up with a bit of animation.

Whoa Mikey! That's such a cool menu! Honestly, it is! Totally unexpected! Awesome! I'm glad it wasn't me who did the menu. I'm eager to see how your preloader turns out now.
Sorry if I'm being a nag, but I have another question. Are we going to have bio page for each individual in this collab?
At 8/3/09 04:10 AM, Kuoke wrote: Event makes the sound play on the frame, and that's it. Streaming usually makes the sound sync to the timeline.
Sound lag can be influenced by other factors...
So, do you have any recommendations or is it something that I shouldn't be too concerned about?
Hi all,
I am part of a collab team and I have one thing that concerns me. Does it matter whether your sounds are set to stream and/or event? I already know the difference between the two. I was just wondering if it will effect the the finishing product or something like that. I ask this because sometimes when I test my movie, occasionally I experience sound lagging. Most of my sounds are set to event btw.
