I thought the episode was alright. Not one of the worst, left me feeling a bit depressed at the end, but I don't think the episode could really have ended on a high. Maybe needed more Doctor, but as the post above says, it could have been better as a two parter.

Still found it entertaining, lets see what next week brings!

Response to: Smoking? Posted September 10th, 2011 in General

I know your not worried about dying early. But are you not worried about dying a slow painful death?

My grandad spent the last 10 years of his life on a ventilator unable to go outside for more than a few minutes and spent most of his time on the couch doing nothing and not able to interact with his grandkids.

You may feel invincible now, and you might think just because your dads alright you will be. That is not the case, you could be one of the unlucky one's. The person who ends up making one of those adverts to tell others to stop smoking because they won't be able to watch their children grow up etc.

All that I ask, is that if you do continue to smoke, do it in your own house, and don't be one of those douche bags who smokes in public and forces their bad habit on all us non-smokers .

Also, if you die early from smoking, think about all the technology you're going to miss out on. E.g. virtual reality gaming where you are actually in the game! It's gonna be big in the future......its gonna be big!

The game is one of the best I've played in quite a few years!

The game is hugeeeeee!!!!!! I've done about 35 hours so far and I don't think I'm even half way through yet! But i'm not speeding through it, so who knows how long I will be playing it for. It is definitely worth your £30 - £40 and alot more!

If you don't buy it right now though, by the time you've saved up more money you'll probably be able to get it a bit cheaper from a pre-owned section.

Xenoblade Chronicles Posted September 10th, 2011 in Video Games

Hello!

I had a look through the forum and couldn't see a topic on this game (please link if I am wrong) so I wanted to make a thread to show my love towards this game. I'm not sure how many people have played/are playing it. Especially since last time I heard it wasn't out in America and was only released in Europe outside Japan.

I just wanted to post about what a wonderful JRPG it is! One of the most absorbing games I've played, especially on wii. I think the environments are extraordinary and are the most sparse and full of life. I love have many mini quests you can go on, and get side tracked from the main quest. This is a very in depth RPG but at the same time accessible. I like the battle system as I'm not always a fan of random battles and enjoy being able to see what I'm fighting.

Anyway, would love to hear from other Xenoblade Chroniclers if your out there!

OMG! I remember playing this game on the PC when I was little. Absolutely loved it! A fantastic puzzle RPG adventure. And where else could you kill things by beating them to death with a ball! The second one was good too. Ahhhhhhhh Good times.......good times :)

Woooo!!!

Finally got linked to the right thread. Love classic rock!

Favourite band is Foo Fighters. But I love a multitude of bands already mentioned on this thread.

What new albums are people excited for? I'm looking forward to Kiss' upcoming album and Steel Panther!

I'd suggest looking up to see if there are any local clubs you could go to. Your college might have some activities that go on outside of hours you could join in with.

Here in the UK we have a website called neighbours united where you can see whats going on in you local area. Not sure if there's anything like that in other countries.

Anyway, I hope that is of some help!

Response to: Depression isn't taken seriously? Posted September 6th, 2011 in General

I think people with depression need to start looking on the bright side of life!

I used to have depression when I went to secondary school (age 11) and had it till I was 16. Then I suddenly realised one day that if I looked at things in a different way, life isn't that bad and I should bask in the joys. Which for me is art and gaming. And once I changed my perception of life, things started to get a lot better, I met my best friend and made even more good friends, and have never been badly depressed since. Sure I still have my days when I feel a bit down, but who doesn't? And it doesn't last all day. I just remind myself of the good things in life and that pulls me out of my sad feelings.

Now, if I know people who are depressed I find them very frustrating, you try and tell them they need to start thinking positively, and they just don't listen because they are so determined to wallow in there depression!!!

The doctors don't help either, plying them with drugs and telling them they have an illness. Everything is controlled by the mind, and we control our minds. If you tell your mind your depressed, you will be depressed, but if you make your mind happy, you will be happy. We our not slaves to our own brains!!!

Ok rant over. Just needed to get that off my chest.

God my grammer is terrible!!!

Apologies if some of those sentences don't make sense :S

Hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to get across though.

Classic Rock Lovers! Posted September 6th, 2011 in Clubs & Crews

I couldn't see any other topics on this so I decided to start my own thread. This is for Classic Rock! I just like to define that I choose the wording Classic Rock to cover a lot of genres within the rock world and been able to read other people's opinions on what is classed as Classic Rock. This isn't about just the old stuff though, but new stuff you might have discovered and want to share with the world.

Little introduction about me to get the ball rolling!

I'm female, 24 and live in England.

Favourite band: Foo Fighters (gotta love the Grohl)

Other highly rated bands: W.A.S.P., Kiss, Free, Rainbow, Voodoo Six, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Steel Panther, Magnum, Slash etc. And think all those kind of give a little insight into my tastes. Love a bit of Glam, love a bit of Blues and love a bit of prog.

So! Who's everyone else into?

Also please feel free to share and news surronding Classic Rock as well as just talking about your favourite bands :)

Response to: Animation slows down when uploaded. Posted June 25th, 2009 in Game Development

At 6/25/09 02:39 PM, bgraybr wrote: Well its normal for flashes to lag more when they're on the web. Did you compress it?

Good point, I haven't. I'm not sure what are the best settings to compress it down to. Do you have any advice what would be the best way to compress it? Should I just move move the jpeg quality down?

Hi, I've uploaded a movie on here and it was playing okish (sound was a bit off) so I added a pre-loader, now the animations is playing slow. I think it's got something to do with my animation being 24fps and the pre-loader came up as 30fps. But I put it into my 24fps animation and it plays fine on my computer but once uploaded it is slow.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
