For some reason I don't always have to vote on five movies in order to get 10 experience points. Today and yesterday I voted on just one movie and go the deposit option right away, and gained 10 experience each time.

Could be a bug. Not that it really concerns me, I usually watch five movies daily anyway if I have time, none if I don't (if I watch one then I feel compelled to watch more =)

When I try view a portal entry all I get is a white page with no source, something seems to be broke with the scripts.

I like it the way it is now, what if I were to open a page and view the movie only to not rate it, go watch something else then decide to go back and rate it? I'd load the movie twice wasting more bandwidth.

Then what about the people who are looking for a certain movie? They look at a page (loading the animation in the process) and scroll down to find it's not the one they want, so they go look at another possible movie until it all goes to hell.

To cut down on database queries and page views simply have the new window contain only the flash itself. This way a whole other page view and database hit isn't needed to generate the flash and appropriate 'send to friend' link, all that has to be done is to load the file. There you go, millions of hits cut down without wasting bandwidth.

Excellent new style for the site. Only suggestion is that some kind of border is put around the review box when viewing an entry's submission page, it isn't very pronounced as it is now.

Dunno 'bout you but I've seen a load of decent movies getting blammed to hell just for points. A movie will pop-up, someone rates it 0 so everyone else rates it 0 without watching.

Also, there have been a shitload of movies submitted purely to get blammed, it's a waste of resources

This forum is probably stock full of articles about how "you mother fuckers can't do shit" regarding "that pansy fuck ass blam point system". Well, the problem is the little pricks who blam things for no reason am I right? And the people who post movies with dummy accounts, just get blam points for their account

So why not have a penalty for always voting low? Since you now choose your allignment through your profile there should be no problem with decreasing the value of votes based on your average rating. As it is most people should be voting pretty evenly, if not very highly (there are tons of great movies out there!).

So, why not treat an average voting value of 3 and above as 100%, 2 would be 66%, 1 would be 33% and 0 would be 0% voting power, this would be a modifier to your experience based voting modifier. This would however only begin to take affect based on a percentage of your everyday votes, if they are consistently high and you then blam one of two things then you won't be penalised, but if you are voting low then your vote modifier will quickly change.

As for the dummy accounts, if someone is consistently rating a specific person's work poorly then a modifier should take effect. If someone has 100% of their work blammed after they have post X movies (5?) then they should lose the ability to post new movies for a certain period of time, or they could be deleted if you're malicious >:-)

I would try to think of formulae to incorporate all this but it is late for me :(

With the new ranking's based on blam and protection points would it be possible to have overtime and review points?

Overtime Points
Every two or so movies you rate beyond the five-a-day quota will get you one point. The more movies you rate the less overtime points you get (ie - there is a maximum number of OP's you can get per day). For example:

1 to 10 extra ratings give 1 point each
11 to 20 give 1/2 point each
21 to 40 give 1/4 point each
41+ give no additional points

Basically this means the maximum number of OP's you can get per day is 20.

Review Points
Similar to overtime points except you get 1 point for every movie you review that you rated that day. You also get 1/2 point for every movie you review that you given an overtime rating to in the past day. You get 0 points for every review you write about a movie you haven't reviewed in the past day.

Conclusion
May have been already suggested but it allows for more flexibility in the ranks, you could for example be a "Homicidal Novelist" if you have a lot of blam and review points.

Um, I can't help but notice the number of porn adverts (especially bestiallity which is plain sick even by my low, low standards). I would just like to say that they should be removed and replaced by other adds, instead the porn should be advertised in the newdgrounds section where they belong.

I don't know if Tom Fulp or any other admin reads this. It's just, some people come here for the really kick ass games or movies like Joe Zombie or Alien Hominid. If I wanted porn adverts I'd go to a porn site (or the BBC).

Well, that letter made me want to play Sagway, and the game made me want to buy Segway (albeit to go around hurting old people!).
