There really isn't one the royal family is simply a bi-product of Britains creeping from monarchism to democracy. Santa is represents justice, rewarding good punishing bad, and he represents generosity, giving presents, and guess what there are saints who allready represent those why have another?? St. nicholas represents those, jesus st. Peter etc. the list has no end because they are christian principles preached and practiced by an endless legion of followers.

You seem to have stabbed yourself in the back, if nations allready accept the key points about the genuine goodness of the human race i really do not think the church needs to go the trouble of sanctifying santa, but please could you anwser my point. Are we making santa into a saint or are we making what he represents into a saint.

I don't remeber saying hitler in my comment. However after deliberating with greenday perhaps i can give you a better example. An award is given to everyone who runs a mile in ten minutes. A child takes twenty minutes yet recieves the medal. While the achievment of the other children still stands their medals are devalued as the achievement has been lowered.

I don't suppose I require anyone to be a saint but i admire saints and personally i would be against making santa a saint. But perhaps on a more light hearted note, are we planning on making the easter bunny a saint? As for a spirit that has helped humanity shall we make freedom a saint, or equality, or perhaps even romance? The anwser is no because saints are not feelings or ideals they are people who's long and bitter struggle has come to represent those ideals or teachings. Lost causes isn't a saint but saint jude is the patron saint of lost causes.

Valuing two things is obviouslly harder than one. there is only so much effort one puts into christmass so the worship of two "idols" obviouslly devides attention, while i concide that it would not demote jesus it will mean less time is spent on him as we have to observe the new saint of santa claus. Which is stupid in itself. For one thing the tradition of santa claus does not dominate the entire catholic world nations such as spain, venezuala and Itlay have no figure which is either called santa or resembles our version. It is at current that seperate nations do celebrate their own version of the embodiment of christmas spirit, pere noel and so forth. It seems a hideous idea to strip these traditions away and replace them with ONE Santa Claus. We simply do not require him to be officially made a saint.

As to your point with reference to the saints not being angered. I think we should insert a lot of random names on war memorials. It would make sence by your logic given that I feel most of our glorious dead wouldn't care to much for their memory. Think of it as this, a saint is a title its like being recognised for your achivement for the christian faith just as the war memorial is a recognition of sacrifice for your nation. While the saints may not be pissed off by it it would devalue the value of being called a saint, just as a selection of random names on a war memorial devalues those that really died. How will future generations distinguish between those who are really admirable and those who are meer fiction?

I accept not all saints are real but it is unthinkable for someone known to be fictional to be declared holy. Well while i can see your point, which i might add is well explained and well thought through, I would deem it unwise to create a fictional charecter to encompass all the good values of man-kind. This only creates outrage as people discover they were misled into acting a certain way. To show true human values we must find a human charecter to represent them, not some fiction. If they are truely human values there will be a human with them.

Look at it this way the federal reserve has the power to determine how much you pay for your house, car, beer, clothes and everything else.

The main question i would raise is that if you view money as a commodity then why is the federal reserve allowed domination of the market. Surely the competition commision should view it as a company and thusly investigate it due to it's complete power over the money market.

Many soldiers join the army out of poverty as their lack of skills or education allow them no other option. I have nothing against Jews but i feel strongly that Israel does a lot of bad shit such as killing civilians which is undeniable. One might argue that Israel is justified in it's actions. First of i would like to make the point that mercs, in general train with the army do some service for the state and then privatize. Mercanerys are not regulars and are hired for specific mission, intel, assaination. Upon reading this the first time i assumed the begginer of this topic meant the private companys would recruit just as the army does now and train them into regulars, pilots etc.

I disagree that the army would run better if privatized for a multitude of reasons.

1 communication between state and the army is good just now as they are bothh ruled by the elected government this could break down as private companys may not be able to communicate with state.

2 The mangement of the armed forces is largely controlled by the genreals, admirals etc. these are by far the most experienced people to look after the army so i don't see what role a private company could have in managing the army.

3 No company is rich or powerful enough to buy America's army contract so this would mean several companys competin against each other for control, not good for an army.

4 Do you think the public would be comfortable giving control of nukes to a private source they have no control over?
