Hey, does anyone know the code to make a page work like the window that comes up when to click "Play This Game" or "Watch This Movie" here on NG?

You know, with the resized window and hiding the address bar.

Thanks in advance!! :D

True. His stand-ups are of a way better quality than his shows, which consists of this..

" HA HA! BEANERSS! *Points out obvious* *Throws in stereotype* Oh I SEE STUPID DOESN'T GET JOKE! DEEDEEDEEE!"

"HAHAHAH!! WHITE PEOPLE!"

Rinse, rather, repeat.

yeah, I do remember seeing a stand up of him before he got his show and thinking it was really funny.

Too bad those were apparently the only funny observations he had to offer.

I guess some people just can't come up with joke after joke week after week, it's a different kind of humor.

But anyway, with Dane Cook you can't say "well jokes get re-hashed... it happens"
Yeah it does happen, and THAT is fine (though I don't believe in every joke has been done or that we'll ever run out of jokes... I think everything has humor in it, and there's in infinite amount of items and events in the world. But that's another story)

The point is with Dane Cook is that he SAW the show and directly STOLE it from a fellow comic, and that's not what guys like Dave Chappelle do.

And there are plenty of comics with original matirial I think.

Alright, I discovered Dane Cook about a year ago and thought he was hilarious.
So I downloaded all his CDs, shared them with friends, quoted him, the works.

I hear some say that he's crap and they think it's not funny but I don't care, I like it. I know it's not deep or amazing... but it's funny.

but THEN I discover something that makes me less sure of myself.

Apparently a bunch of his stuff is stolen... and i dunno... that's not really cool (well I stole his album by downloading it... so I guess we're even, but still)

here's the MP3 proving it.
http://www.cringehumor.net/temp/danesteals.mp 3

and from what I've heard it's not just like minds, Dane was AT this guys show... So I don't know what to think about him now.
It's odd, because Dane's version IS more funny, because really what's made him is his delivery. But stealing from your peers still isn't cool no matter way. Plus I've heard that most comedians think his an arrogant jerk (as yeah... he's a bit egotistical, I must admit, but not without reason.)

What do you think about it?
Do the end justify the means? does it matter as long as it's funny? or should a comics background make a difference?

alright this has been driving me nuts, I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Penny Arcade theme song by MC Frontalot, but I just can't figure out what the meaning on the chorus is, I just don't get the reference, anyone understand what it means?

it's goes...

"I hit the L shift-O to the quote and then dollar"

that seems to spell

lO"$

WTF is that suppose to mean??
here's a link to the lyrics on Frontalot's site, you can also download the song from there

yes, exactly that!
Which one?

If you want it so it only moves once when you hold the button:

onClipEvent (load) {
var distance:Number = 20
pressed1 = false;
pressed2 = false;
pressed3 = false;
pressed4 = false;
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown( 37 )) {
if(pressed1 == false){
pressed1 = true;
this._x = this._x - distance;
}
} else {
pressed1 = false;
}
if (Key.isDown( 39 )) {
if(pressed2 == false){
pressed2 = true;
this._x = this._x + distance;
}
} else {
pressed2 = false;
}
...and so on with the other buttons

oh yeah, I meant that it should just move a certain distance everytime to press an arrow, and will move that same distance everytime to press in in that direction.

I put in the code you provided, but it didn't seem to work, is there something i'm missing? what should i be applying this to?

Alright, so I have this code set up on a mask so it'll move when i press the appropriate arrow keys.

onClipEvent (load) {
var distance:Number = 20
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown( 37 )) {
this._x = this._x - distance;
}
if (Key.isDown( 39 )) {
this._x = this._x + distance;
}
if (Key.isDown( 38 )) {
this._y = this._y - distance;
}
if (Key.isDown( 40 )) {
this._y = this._y + distance;
}
}

what i'm trying to do though is have it only move a certain amount and then stop, if i click the arrow key really fast then it'll move exactly the right amount, but is there any way that I can hold down the key and it won't keep moving past the distance i say?

Okay, so I work as a multimedia specialist at the mac lab at the University liberary Okay, so I work as a multimedia specialist at the mac lab at the University library. Overall I love my job and helping people, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that every once in a while it gets a bit... taxing.

for example, less than a minute ago a guy walked and asked "do you have any macs?" I just wave my arm out stretched and go "uh... yeah, they're all macs" and then he's like, "oh okay, do they have quicktime in them?" I just said yes... but I was ready to shoot myself in the face... again I love my job, but... AAARRRGGG!!!

anyone else here have jobs where you have to listen to stupid people?
