"Notice" the might, besides, my point was increase a teacher's salary in conjunction with their competence. This way teacher will strive to do better and not deliver a mediocre performance if they know they'll be able to increase their wages.

The way it is most teacher unions want it so all teachers have the same amount of pay, regardless of effectiveness. In my opinion this why our education system is so bad because their is no mentallity to improve within the teachers due to the socialistic ideal of equal pay for all.

But anyways, the simple truth is that gas has become a utility; its no longer seen as a luxury as it was decades ago. I don't need jewelery, I don't need air conditioning, what I do need is a market stocked with food and a way to get to and from work.

It is still considered a free-market asset; though it is a necessity. Hell, that still doesn't government the right to bully around oil companies(They aren't so hapless, but the government is more than menacing). If I want to get into the oil business where are all my rights? Why is it the feds can push me around and tell me how to run my independent business. There's still loopholes, like putting your money in a foreign bank where the government can't really tax you on your income. I'm not sure how the process works, but I've heard George Sorrows is pretty good at not paying his taxes.

But we can't just let poor nations of the world continue to suffer. Besides; more stable third-world nations (especially in resource-rich areas like Africa and Southeast Asia) means more economic oportunities in the future.

You said no outsourcing jobs. That is contradictary, considering all these third-world countries are good for is cheap labor and keeping the prices of raw material low.

If we were to industrialize them; they would undoubtly go through a sort of socio-evolution where they demand such things as fair wages, standard luxuries we have and humane-treatment which is what happened here, this resulted in heavy costs for companies (if not all of them) that needed resources at a low price. That is why they moved their work force to different countries where the government isn't too interloping on how they run things and pay their employees.

The third-world countries you saved would be virtually useless for our own needs since we could no longer get anything from work and resources cheap, and then our own economy would suffer. It's either them or us.

$5 an hour to high? I say the more money the majority makes, the more money they spend on crap they don't need, therein spurring the economy to do better. Unemployed masses never helps an economy, or any area of a nation really.

Compare $5.50 an hour to two cents. Call me an inconsiderate asshole, but paying the person who only works for two cents and a bag of peanuts a day seems a better deal than the typical yahoo who demands $5.50 an hour.

To be a legal war it would have to be sanctioned by the UN or be in defense of hostile actions towarxs the US. Iraq never attacked, nor was ever in a position to attack the US, and the UN definatly never sanctioned the war.

Iraq did commit hostile against the US. Iraqi forces not only fired at American airplanes, but shot at British and UN ones as well. Shooting at these aircraft was in clear violation of the Cease Fire Treaty Saddam agreed to after the Gulf War. Not only did Saddam perpetrate aggressive acts, but violated 17 UN resolutions by building up his military again. I guess the US is the only manly nation around to smack the crap out of little, dissident dictators.
