And then just to be spiteful the universe decided to blow up. It blew up and cast its attoms, quarks, electrons, and photons into its infinite reaches which no longer existed.
And years later the clumps of left over universe merged to once again create the big bang and all was put right as over millions of years the universe rebuilt itself. Earth once again came into being revolving around the sun and I lived out the same 18 years untill I ended up lying in the grass one last time...

Well it just so happened that the commet that destroyed life on earth died as well. You see this commet happened to be alive, it had no control over its movements whatsoever, but it still managed to think. For billions of years it had studied its surroundings and come up with hypothesis and such. It was easily the most intelligent being in the universe and all the scientists that had studied it on other planets were so heart broken by the sudden loss of such a wonderful creature that they all commited suicide.
It was a sad day in the universe, for without scientists the univers sunk into a dark age. Dark as the infinite reaches of space which swallowed all that ever lived in it.

I lay in the cool moist grass as the fireflys pulsed around me. The cool summer air drifted over my face, feeling almost like a streem it was refreshing after the hot day. I stared up into the night sky, looking beyond the stars I let the empty infinity of space envelope me, hold me. The emptiness in side me bonded with the night untill I could no longer feel the earth beneath me.
It had been one of those weeks and this feeling of complete apathy that had gripped completly took hold. All the trivial bull shit, all the people, they didn't matter they just floated off into space, fading from my mind.
One of the firefly's hummed over my chest. I picked up one of my hands and held it out. Under the pale moonlight it looked soft and gray. The firefly came down and landed on my finger. Its glow iluminated my finger and a serenity filled me like I had never felt before. I could have laid there for the rest of my life.
And then a commet came and everybody died. The End

I'd have to agree with that, but I also think that others would rise up because there would be the need... I've been in situations where leadership is lacking because people have left, but there is always someone who with the motivation rises up, and sometimes its the person you least expect.
Some people just don't do what they do because they feel its already covered... I certainly would find it much more annoying if twenty of those pictures spawned in ever how to topic... and granted they do sometimes, but a lot of people hold off on doing it because they see others already have it covered.

It wasn't a java program at all... it was the html file. I forgot to close the applet...
But now I need to figure out how to get the circle to move randomly about the screen... its ten pixels wide and the screen that its moving on is 500 by 300.
I used a random number generator to move by a max of five pixels in both up and down and left and right, but it doesn't actually move around so much as dance around one point, and thats a problem, so if anyone knows a way that I can actually get it to move randomly about the screen the help would be appreciated... I don't so much need code as a basic way to do it since I will have to arrange it specifically for this project.
