That lets the spammer do more spamming.True there aren't always mods browsing the BBS, maby a few new mods would be nice perhaps users who are on the BBS alot who make good posts, but aren't necessary recognised or well known.
It happens, but mods have lives. I can't really blame them for that. Its a volunteer job. As for new mods, I don't know what it would do, it all depends on the people that are modded.
I agree, however alot of the spam comes from alt accounts, which is kind of hard to combat.
Don't allow accounts to post on their first day of existance, make them wait a week.
I'm not saying the forums won't improve, they probably will. It possible to get more mods, tell them to ban more people but it's impossible to select the type of users who browse the forum and unfortunately for NG it's mainly idiots.
It is who is attracted by flash and what drives them to the forums for the first time. The fact is no one comes here for the forums when they first discover the site. They find it by accident usually.
Contrary to your belief sarai I don't like seeing inocents die. In fact, the only thing I've done on the last two pages say that your calling Israel murderers was a little unjust and unbalanced. I agree with your last post in which you finally answered my question. I don't know that it would work and I don't think that Israel will pull out yet. I also don't think "the world" is going to help lebanon, they'll square it all on Israel.
Additionally, the Israeli soldiers aren't terrorists, they are following orders which they have to follow. Everyone is drafted in Israel into government sevice at the age of 18. The entirety of israel doesn't want kill civilians, and just saying that they do is stupid.
The only real issue is that Arab countries have never "worked with" Israel and I don't think you could convince Lebanon to allow Israeli soldiers in to work with Lebanese soldiers given what has just happened in the last week.
I wish your idea would work, but I don't think it can or will in present circumstances.

Which was exactly my point. I said exactly the same things you said and look where we are... anyway, I'm trying to steal glory or anything, its just another example of the repetativeness of this place to me.

Its my idea from four or six months ago -_-
I talked to liljim or wade about it and they said it was the users fault if they weren't going to read the rules.
But I'm used to that... the rating club was my idea too..

More than several. Knowing how to click a button doesn't make you intelligent, especially when it tells you what it does. "post it!"
The only thing to do would be to make a list of people who could be "qualified advicers". Hehe.
Not really needed in my opinion. Who would run it? Who would care? And how many pointless e-drama topics would there be about the people who make it and the people who actually got in or didn't get in.
On another note, you mention the alternative account Grish_Noren; I always believed that that was your official alt. account, but apparently, I was just "watching you". ;-)
Yeah you told me that before... Like I said though, for me hindsight is 20/20
Freak out!

The reason for the general thread, is to have a laugh. the other sections of the BBS are for serious talk. Without spam, most topics would suck.
I heavily disagree with this statement. Spam is spam and isn't actually needed in any respect. The spam wade is talking about is the useless kind that we see day in and day out in 25 of the 30 front page topics which generally have no purpose other than the author felt the need to make a topic. I myself have been guilty of this at times, though I generally strive to find something interesting to make it about instead of talking about the pickles on my sandwhich, or taking pictures of me holding a two liter bottle of pop and emptying it by magic...
If the users here were of the intelligent sort there are any number of topics that weren't political or about flash or about audio that could be held in the general section. Several of them come up everynow and then. The fact remains that it is hard to have any semblance of originality in a place like this and most people would know it if it bit them in the ass. I don't really blame people for being uninteresting, but I do agree that talking about how much you like the color green is a little uneeded and boring.
Everything here is repetitive. I know this topic will get lots and lots, probably 30 pages of responses and this will all be drowned out in the dismal crashing of bbs stupidity and people trying to be helpful or at least attain modship. You name one topic about something that isn't a current event and I almost guarantee I can find a similar topic on the bbs. Even this one is nothing new, it just came from Wade this time.
Being a little more serious though Wade than my last post I have a little more to say on the subject.
The "good users" or experienced users or whatever you want to call them generally keep to their own topics and make good topics. They don't really need your encouraging to do it and they will continue to do it.
The reason for all the nonsensical spam is simply that there are too many people here who are here because they have nothing to do. They aren't interesting or funny people, they are never going to be, but they will try none the less. The site attracts that kind of people. Perhaps your suggestion for harsher modding is what is needed, perhaps it isn't.
This place has never exactly budded and bloomed with intelligence, and most of us don't ever expect it to.
Wade, ketchup or musturd?
And who is going to make the new sigs of your post?
And yadda yadda yadda...
I've grown accustomed to just not reading those topics or replying.
At 7/19/06 11:56 AM, Turandot wrote: Oh look but the UN couldn't verify the Israeli threats. You forgot to copy that part. Then they left and got killed on the road. Congratulations for ignoring all that.
I didn't ignore it, I just choose, just like you to choose the part that supported my case. Either way the lebonese are blaiming the UN. They know they were given warning.
Good going Israel, I love the pictures of blocks of flats demolished by bombs and missiles. Total destruction of civilian property, totally illegal.
Not totally illigal. Its war. They are aloud to target anything they felt was a threat. During WWII do you think the allies left the Germans their power plants and homes when they bombed the country? The idea is laughable. And the precision of this attack is greater than anything of that era.
You know what, there was a story just now about some Israeli soldiers getting killed in a fight against Hezbollah militants an hour ago. I've lost all feeling about casualities on the Israeli side, if the stories true, who cares, two Israeli soldiers die today, 55 civilians at least (+ militants die). The civilians are totally innocent, they live in Lebanon, a country not at war on Israel of it's own making. Israel murders them. The Israeli soldiers die in a battle, fair enough it's war hey.
So you are saying that Israeli lives don't matter? Looks like you fell into the same trap as everyone else. You've convinced yourself that you are right and that the other side doesn't deserve to be alive because they are your enemy. And claiming that all 55 of the civilians killed today that you have never met, that you can't possibly know the intentions of or the exact circumstances under which they died are completly innocent is astound Sarai. But you know, keep making up facts. Its entertaining.
All the people who love it know where to find it. It isn't popular amoung the masses of users who know very little about the system. In fact a majority of you like it only for the reactions it elicits out of others on this site.
If I were tom, I wouldn't make a collection page just because I'd feel it to be a waste of my time and it wouldn't exactly help the site in anyway whatsoever.
And I don't think anyone needs a stereotype lesson from Hitler. :/
Relatives blamed the UN for the deaths, pelting peacekeepers with stones when they arrived with the bodies after the strike.
"If they had taken people in to begin with then they would never have died," said Mohammed Oqla, who was at the hospital.
From the guardian report Sarai. Apparently Israel did warn them to leave. If they were targetting them, that really makes sense.
Today the BBC's frontpage story is:
http://news.bbc.co.u..dle_east/5193662.stm
Twenty-eight Israelis have been killed - including 16 civilians killed by rocket attacks - since the Israeli offensive against Hezbollah militants began last Wednesday.
"We won't have a terrorist organisation deployed on our northern border and Hezbollah is the one that has destabilised the entire region," Israeli government spokeswoman Miri Eisin told the BBC.
This passage is interesting as it tries to evoke sentiments from christians because christian territories are so much "more important" :o
Israeli planes also struck Beirut, with a Christian district coming under fire for the first time, as well as more Hezbollah rocket attacks on the northern Israeli city of Haifa.
It is also worth noting that while it is bolded that civilians have died. Once again the article doesn't say israel targetted them. Just that they died.
Israel targets civilians, at least 17 killed in Convoy fleeing village.
The Israeli Army said the responsibility for endangering the civilian population rested with Hezbollah, and they regretted civilian casualties while targeting areas used as a launching ground for missiles.
No where does the article say Israel targetted civilians. It just said civilians died. You are rewording what they say sarai to fit what you want them to say.
The only thing I would suggest, is don't get involved with someone who is going to be sleeping around with everyone she "cares" about. If she is flirting with you after being with someone for 8 months, what is she going to do behind your back if you two end up togeather?
Looks decent andersson... but no one really checks that kind of stuff... the alpha went by the wayside a long time ago because no one was interested in unfinished projects unless you were a really well known artist.
Anyway, http://www.newground../topic.php?id=528494
is a topic recently made. Probably about the most honest thing in regards to myself on this site that I've ever made and it has plenty of my "expert" views on this site.

I've added three people from ng to my myspace (but that was my old one), the new one I like to add only people in georgia, more specificly the people that go to my school, so I have about 110 "friends" from school...off topic
Don't get me wrong, I've aimed with a few people here and there, but I never really valued or looked for friends on the internet. As for myspace, I check it about once a month, accept all new requests and then don't do anything with it.
Alot of the time I only talk to NG members out of NG or through PM's b.c of some joke, or someone is pissed at me, we might have a b/p race.
Yeah, that is pretty standard stuff.
I think the most important thing here that I would have to add is this:
Back when we had the scoring system is when b/pers really banned together to help eachother out, people could probably still do it now but it involves was more than simply voting and telling your eBuddy weather to vote 0 or to vote 5
I never really liked the people who did that. I always thought that people should be able to judge a movie on their own and that general concensus from the audience of newgrounds would push the movie one way or the other. Since all newgrounders would express their opinion, the majority would inevitably be pleased by the results of the system.
I am like 1 of 4 NG members that lives in GA and I see that most of the NGers here actually know each other or live near eachother...it's kinda awkward
Very few NG members actually know each other. I live in PA, but I've never met any of the users that live in the area. A lot of regs give the impression that they know each other, and a lot of that has to do with just being here a long time. Also a lot of the chat people have stronger connections to each other than some of the forum users do. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Those who stick to it and act intelligent or go with the masses tend to break in through the clicks that exist or form their own.

No... there are no "female" cows in the entire movie, yet they all have such utters. And the father is the same way...
I have seen a lot of movies this summer, and of course have also seen a lot of previews. It only makes sense, what doesn't make sense is the new movie Barnyard.
Its anothe cg animated movie aimed towards young kids with a couple inside jokes with the parents. The only issue is that they have some how forgotten what exactly a cow is and what exactly a bull is.
My expression when I realized this might have been like the mail man below, but I can't be entirely sure. Anyway, that cow is supposed to be a male cow, yet it has utters. Discuss.

That might be a mistake on your part. Lots of people have lots of things to say, but it could easily all be giberish, and the best parts might be somewhere at the end if they existed. But thank you for your vote of confidence.
It isn't really a history of the internet, but more a history of my experiences half way through my experiences on the internet...

Not sure, I don't think it was that long, but I did it in notepad and had to keep closing it as I had other things to do. Like learning C++ for the first time and filming procedures with our laser camera.

They deleted his account because he was spamming and being a bit of an attention whore and causing shit. He wanted deleted from almost the outset.
