Miranda Posted October 2nd, 2013 in Writing

I'm an idiot - i never realized there was a place here to put your literary talents as well as everything else. from now on i'll be posting my good pieces on here :D

Miranda

Sitting on the grass, Mranda found it difficult to keep her mind off of the insects which she was sure must have been crawling all around her. The only comfort she should find was in the fact that there was really no use worrying about them; they were there first, after all. She knew that no matter how many she could squash, she would never be able to permanently be rid of them.
On the grassy knoll just west of the cornfield she watched the sunset, white sun dress slowly turning green under her lithe, appropriately childlike frame. Brown hair spilled down her back as she contemplated the sight before her young, green eyes. Sunsets always became bittersweet for her; always, memories of her dear father would come to her in waves.
In better times, before his death and Miranda's disease, her father would tell her bedtime stories. He had always been obsessed with things of the sky, but he consistantly showed a lovable affinity for sunsets in particular. So very often he would tell Miranda of Sun and his sister, Moon.
"Sun," he would say, "gets very sleepy after looking at us all day, making sure we stay out of trouble. So, when he goes to bed, he call out his little sister, Moon, to take over for him, but not before he shows us just how much he loves us with a BIG show of lights and color!" These expositions of Sun's affection were often the subject of many a father-daughter trip into the fields. Miranda cherished those memories now, despite their bitter taste.
The sunset Miranda beheld now, however, would have left her beloved father in gaping awe. Sun had turned a deep hue of rose-red, and the tendrils of light radiating outwards shined down on the green earthy horizon in ever shifting spectrums of color; red, green, magenta, and beyond, the beams continually changed color, entirely at random, and much to Miranda's wonderment. These ribbons of light stretched out from their base, wriggling like snakes probing the sky for a small rodent to sink their fangs into.
As Miranda watched the spectacle unraveling before her very eyes, she picked up a loud rustling sound, coming from something awkwardly waddling through the maize. Christopher, happily panting, bobbed to Miranda's side, plopping his odd yet adorable Corgi frame down beside her own. His tongue waggled out of his lower jaw and his tail shook from side to side calmly. Miranda chuckled and, greatful at his appearance, gave him a few scratches on his small head.
Sighing and falling backwards on the hillside, she said, "What a pretty sunset... Oh, I'm exhausted... I think it's time for bed, don't you, Chrissy?"
They buried her at sunset the next day, on the hill west of the cornfield.

Response to: Newgrounds Assassin Game Jam Posted October 1st, 2013 in Art

I dont really know what this is all about or what a game jam really is, but im trying to get involved around NG so i'll sign up and maybe someone can explain all of this to me later :X

I am a writer and a musician, but in the music field im restricted to the genre of classical.
Im not very good at any other type of composition :P

I'm available to work on this pretty much any time as of right now. though im trying to find a new job so this is subject to change maybe.

I dont really know the timezone, but im in the United States' Central timezone, so whatever that translates to in those funky acronyms of yours :P

I really think NG needs something serious, well-done and dramatic.
In my mind, this would still have comedy, but it would be subtle and well thought out.
If this has already been done, or if you agree, the best thing to do would be to reply to this post i guess
Look me up in the collaboration area too, if you're interested in doing something like this.
I just feel like this has been done though :l

Hopefully im not alone on this, but

What happened? Posted September 9th, 2013 in Audio

I dont know about the rest of you guys, but this site used to be great for artists like me who are just starting out. It used to be that people would always at least rate your stuff. I'm seeing an average of fifty views on my tracks and not a single one of those viewers found it suited them to click one single measly button. And nobody's been reviewing either. And when they do, I get responses like the one on my track, "Something Like This..." which are baseless and irrelevant.
I remember this audio portal being a quality place to submit your work for peer review.
It's not that way anymore.

Cats :3 Posted December 23rd, 2009 in General

hey people, how many of you guys have a cat? now riddle me this, how many of you that said yes to that question have a cat that is very strange? i do.
take for instance, my three year old cat, mist, brown, and with different shades of brown mixed in. a calico.
it's declawed in the front, but to preserve it's self-defense, we let it keep it's back claws. it does some pretty strange stuff, obviously.
like, if you scratch on its back near its rear end, you notice it looks as if it is having an orgasm. and regularly, though it has no claws, it likes to jump on the back of our high-backed chair in our dining room and paw at the fabric with its vacant front paws.
so, im just putting this out there for comments. anybody have a similar cat situation? then reply. thank you!

Response to: Typing with your kneecap?? Posted December 6th, 2009 in General

Typing with your kneecap?? Posted December 6th, 2009 in General

well, i just had a guy tell me to suop typing with my kneecap. pissed me off, but that's besides the point. and then, i also have good reasons for quote, "typing with my kneecap."
its because I never learned to type like regular people, with two hands, both thumbs on the space bar (my keyboard is strange, it has two seperate space bars) and the rest of the fingers typing, you know? im what professional computer people call a kay crab, that is, i poke each key with either my index or my middle finger, ususally my index on my left, and middle on my right. now, this causes me to spazz, or fat, finger some of the keys, and this is consiquentially (bet i spelled that wrong, lol) what he's referring to.
If anyone has the slightest idea about it then please comment. i wanna try and make a joke by saying, "its infectious, like cancer," but i know alot of people will get seriouslt offended by that, so i will avoid doing it. okay?
