Topic: Modern Warfare 2 "No Russian"?

Posted: 11/11/09 11:31 PM

Forum: Video Games

What shocked me was how I imagined what it would be like to be one of those civilians. It's just a simple peaceful day, and all of a sudden dozens of people get mowed down and people start fleeing for their lives. The audio amped up the realism. The people's screams of hysteria and shock were very believable.

More than that level though, the burning of Roach and Ghost pained me more to see, and even more than that, the simple invasion of America was pretty chilling. I always imagine America as an impenetrable land, an all powerful and invincible country protected from the rest of the world from the vast oceans. But all of a sudden, the Russians somehow launch their whole fleet to the east coast. Thank god it's not the west coast haha.

Was I completely horrified near the end?? Yes.

It was very hard in me to slay my fellow Americans, even if they are just video game characters, and even though they burned ***** and **** to death.

Modern Warfare 2 improved upon Call of Duty 4 in EVERY aspect.

The maps are WAY larger, gives it a more tactical and less frantic feel. I love it, every map impresses me and is fun to play.

The graphics are also extremely astounding, probably the best I've seen on the Xbox 360 ever.

The number of guns and the variety of them astounds me, plus all the attachments looks sleek and aesthetically amazing with any gun. The new red dot sight looks WOAH, EVERYTHING IS.

I LOVE THE PREDATOR MISSILE.

I LOVE MODERN WARFARE 2.

FREAK I LOVE THIS GAME MORE THAN ANY OTHER PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT IN HISTORY.

TY INFINITY WARD.

NO complaints whatsover, no complaints. That's a feat. At least for me.

This game has so much variety and scale that Modern Warfare 2 will probably stay fresh for years on.

I commend this game as the best video game ever made, maybe just a bit behind LoZ: OoT and a few other lauded classics.

Freak, the killstreak system is perfect. Combat is tight and fun, everything is fun and amazing. Wow wo wowowowowowwowowowowow.

This game delivered for all the hype it received.

Oh sweet Jesus.

This game completely blew me off my everything when I first took a glimpse of even the title screen. Then everything was a flash when the first images of the Afghanistan Firebase came, the graphics were unbelievable realistic.

The mutli-player is phenomenal. There are so many elements of Call of Duty 4 that has been perfected and expanded to amazing limits. There's so much variety, I'm amazed about the replay value.

Other than a few things to fix (dedicated server support, party chat) for the many who are heavily disgruntled, Modern Warfare 2 is a perfect game. This is definitely my favorite game of probably all time until some other amazing game comes out in the future, maybe like a new Modern Warfare.

OH GOD, I GOT MODERN WARFARE 2

I didn't even open it yet because I have to do my homework first.

But here's a pic of me with it, it's a tradition for me to have photos of me and a highly anticipated game (like the Halo 3 pics I took with me in my football gear right after a football game)

I was all dressed up in a suit because I came straight back from my school's veteran's day assembly.

CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!!!!

Anyone anticipating perfect 10's from IGN and Gamespot??

Maybe 9.7's, but I'm sure it will be way higher than CoD4's measly 9.0 score in Gamespot, and already most reviewers gave it perfect scores.

Personally if I was a reviewer, I would instantly slap on a perfect score. Screw the single player, it's HECKA polished which is all that matters, mainly because no one really cares for an FPS' single player anyway. Multiplayer is the real deal, and it seems like one of the most replayable multiplayers ever.

I cannot wait.

Tomorrow is a day in history for me in video games.

lol i sound so nerdy....

Holy hell I cannot wait.

Only exactly 5 hours left Pacific time before the midnight release.

Sadly like other students, I have to wait until after school to lavish in the delight of a game I'm going to play for literally YEARS.

I cannot wait, I'm getting a Modern Warfare 2 T-Shirt with the purchase of a Call of Duty themed XBL 12 year subscription. An amazing deal.

Plus I plan to start the game on veteran, and I hope to beat the whole game on veteran without dying once.

Well if I did, let's just say I would be marked absent to whole school day and I wouldn't have turned in my assignments.

It's hard to do something new with ur life everyday when ur stuck in mundane school.

Topic: Rickroll virus infects iphones!!

Posted: 11/08/09 07:31 PM

source

A number of iPhones in Australia have reportedly been infected by a worm that replaces the background wallpaper with an image of 80's pop icon Rick Astley. "The worm, which could have spread to other countries although we have no confirmed reports outside Australia, is capable of breaking into jailbroken iPhones if their owners have not changed the default password after installing SSH," explained Sophos security researcher Graham Cluley. "Once in place, the worm appears to attempt to find other iPhones on the mobile phone network that are similarly vulnerable and installs itself again."

The nefarious worm - which was written by a hacker named Ikex - also scrawls the phrase "Ikee is never going to give you up" over Astley's infamous visage. %u2028 "The worm will not affect users who have not jailbroken their iPhones or who have not installed SSH," said Cluley. "What's clear is that if you have jailbroken your iPhone or iPod Touch, and installed SSH, then you must always change your root user password to something different than the default 'alpine.'" According to Cluley, an analysis of the worm's code indicates the presence of at least four variants - with one version attempting to mask its presence by hiding in a filepath similar to the Cydia application. "The source code is littered with comments from the author suggesting the worm has been written as an experiment. One of the comments berates affected users for not following instructions when installing SSH, because if they had changed the default password the worm would not have been able to infect them," added Cluley. It should be noted that Ikex has been tentatively identified as 21 year-old Ashley Towns from Wollogong, Australia.

Since it's MW2, I hope it'll be an epic win.

More than the space mission, the epic suburban battles in America looks even more chilling.

I always wondered what war would look like in the quaint peaceful suburbs of the United States of America. Ever wonder what it would be like to see a tank roll into your cul-de-sac, your local elementary school turned into a FOB?

I think these changes are freaking amazing.

I was actually pretty disappointed from the overall lack of major changes in Halo 3 from Halo 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 actually sounds like a true powerful sequel. The new trailer just ignited a new fire of hype I have for this game.

I CANNOT WAIT

I vote Modern Warfare 2 the best game of the 00's, this decade, 2009, the best shooter by far

Plus I found out a mental technique of trying to forget spoilers.

Apparently you think of a black board every time the spoiler comes into mind. I'm afraid this might degrade my memorization and mental capabilities, but for the enjoyment of Modern Warfare 2, it just might be worth it.

I actually miss being able to talk to anyone. Xbox Live feels so cold, mainly because you don't hear the voices of your allies and enemies in your game. Long I ago I always loved popping into a game, and knowing that I would meet someone either to annoy the hell out of with soundboards, or get to know them well. I made three of my XBL friends through random coversation and matchmaking.

I support this move as well.

I just read info about Modern Warfare 2 in the call of duty wiki page, and I couldn't help but read the summaries of the levels.

Now I have freaking SPOILERS IN MY HEAD!! Now I know which character is probably going to trigger the plot twist and everything. Spoilers ruined my Halo 3 experience, but I really can't let it ruin my Modern Warfare 2 one.

Shit, is there any method to mentally extract the spoiler from my head?!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!! Don't read if you don't want the plot to be spoiled!!

Some general "shepherd", the commander of the US Forces has to be killed at the last level according to a level summary. SHIT, now I won't have a feeling of shock when this "shepherd" guy betrays the U.S. Call of Duty 4 was fun because I wasn't really crazy interested in the game before I played it, therefore not getting into spoilers. Holy crap.
