I'm slightly disappointed. I was looking forward to Facebook, Twitter, Last.FM on 360 for a long time.

I signed into XBL with my true birthday and everything, so I'm under 18 at the moment. Yet they restricted social networking access for "child accounts" That's stupid because Facebook's minimum sign up age if 14.

Well I just have to wait for Microsoft to release it to child accounts by patching in parental controls for Facebook. Or I just wait until I'm 17, prbly when the 360 will die with the coming of the next next gen.

Modern Warfare 2 is devilishly fun. The maps are way bigger, there's tons of more weapons, amazingly fun killstreaks like predator missiles, and very aesthetically appealing guns and stuff.

But I'm sucking at this game. This game isn't like Call of Duty 4 in the least bit, at least in terms of mechanics and feeling. It's a whole new game, with whole new tactics, whole new everything. I like it. Yet Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare felt a lot more tighter and adrenaline fueled than MW2. The experience is not the same. I miss the power and dominance of the SMG's, especially the silenced MP5. CoD: 4 was hands down gorgeous. MW2 is a great game, but the more I play it, the more I have doubts about how much of an improvement it was on Call of Duty 4.

Still, life goes on, and I get to enjoy this beautiful work of WOW.

LOL no. MW2 was just another generic " go shoot stuff " game.
To even compare MW2 to Doom is just sad. You have to be really ignorant to believe they are even close to the same level of greatness.

I'm a huge Doom fan. I make WADS, I've beat Doom and Doom 2 multiple times.

Yet Modern Warfare 2 is of course WAY better than Doom. Doom is an old, repetitive shooter with no plot, a very limited multiplayer, dumb A.I, etc. Of course it's a gaming legend that's still fun today. But really, there's no comparison.

People say Modern Warfare 2 is just another "shoot and kill shooter'

Yeah it is, but it has a depth unlike any other shooter. All the killstreaks, gametypes, different assortment of weapons makes MW2 fresh and varied every match. It sets the bar for an improved, more replayable shooter.

Topic: Ign's Top 25 Xbox 360 Games List

Posted: 11/20/09 01:38 AM

Forum: Video Games

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/104/1045 042p20.html

This list is highly controversial.

It places Halo Wars ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which is placed at 20th place.

Of course it's an affront to society and life and every CoD fan in history. I personally would have placed CoD: MW2 in 1st place without second thought. IGN made a bad choice. But it doesn't really matter, it's just a stupid list. But seriously, MW2 got a 9.5, and ODST got a 9.0... It's plain stupid. Really?? Fifa and Virtua fighter beat MW2??!!! Freaking 90% of XBL is playing MW2 right now, no one in my 100 friends friends list never even TOUCHED virtua fighter. WTF.

However, there's only 5 spots remaining, and I believe Castle Crashers is gonna take one of the places, as well as Street Fighter 4. Both were highly critically acclaimed games that didn't make it into the list yet. But if these two games do, I would be highly offended no offense. I would cheer for Castle Crashers making it to the top 25, but I would not choose CC over MW2 never ever. Not even Halo 3, which should have been in the top 5 just for iconic status. Gears of War 2 is probably gonna be in the top 5, though it basically was a huge disappointment to many fans including me.

Your thought's on the list? It's absolutely abhorrent to me.

Just a minor point out, but you can actually take one of the elevators to the ground floor after you're down massacring civilians on the top floor. Instead of going down the stairs, take one of the elevators next to the elevator you shot up with security guards coming out. You press "X" to activate it.

I didn't even know it was possible, but my friend on his playthrough did it, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I've moved on to the more simpler (PC Gamers called it dumbed down, but I just call it more fun) console, more specifically the Xbox 360.

However I'm still a PC Gamer at heart. I mainly play Team Fortress 2, Civilization 2, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Age of Empire 2, Sudden Attack, and Project Reality.

Oh man, back then PC Games were the bomb. I remember playing Caesar 3, building crazy armies and scenarios with Empire Earth, playing Age of Empires 1 for the first time, storming beaches in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, retaking America in Freedom Fighters, playing Halo PC online.

So the game was extremely enjoyable when I first played it.

Now it's my most favorite game ever, and I don't care about elitists who disagree. It's my most favorite game ever, and 90% of my friends list is playing MW2 every chance they get. This game is awesome sauce.

Interested or not, this is critical to all gamers.

EA is a huge player in the video gaming industry, which recently has been struggling quite a bit because of the recession. If EA falls, it's like AIG falling in a way. EA's collapse would send ripples across the industry, and possibly in the worst case scenario, trigger the start of the decline of video games part 2.

Two of my fairly favorite games, The Sims 2 and Simcity 3000 are going to be relics (already relics) when Maxis falters.

However why would EA do this so close to the release of The Sims 3 expansion pack, World Adventures?? EA has profited so much from Maxis.

The USP .45 and ACOG are better. Trust me. I know sounds stupid, but just trust me.

The .44 doesn't fire fast enough, and has a tiny clip and very low range, (like all Magnums) and the Thermal is basically like putting a sniper scope on your weapon. This isn't as great on automatic weapons as it sounds.

But with such huge maps, putting a sniper scope on an assault rifle is excellent, especially because I hipfire a lot in close range combat. With such a wide and diverse color pallet and so much scenery in the maps, it's a bit more difficult to spot a camouflaged enemy. Thermals takes care of that.

And the .44 magnum is just for satisfaction. I value pistols, and I value utilizing any to its maximum extent. I love the Colt Anaconda in real life, and have been waiting for a faithful recreation of one in a video game. Other than Sudden Attack (poor graphics), Modern Warfare 2's looks promisingly fun to use.

Plus truthfully, Modern Warfare made me jizz in my pants for than Call of Duty 4 did. No offense. Modern Warfare 2 feels so much more expanded and fresh, I don't know why fresh, but I guess just crisp. Everything feels crisp in the game, from the main menu to the red dot on your scope. I love it.

Topic: Oh God Dedicated Servers Suck

Posted: 11/13/09 01:17 AM

Forum: Video Games

God dang, I'm not saying all dedicated servers suck, but I just had a horrible experience with dedicated servers right now.

I'm just trying to play a mod of Battlefield 2 (Project Reality), and there's only one server worth playing in. But it has a full 64/64 cap and I'm monotonously clicking back and worth between servers to get in. I did this for literally twenty minutes until someone finally got out. It was 63/64, and I did my best to try to speedily enter the server, but someone else gets in. 700 clicks later, another. Once again I fail. Now I'm really angry. Three minutes later, I finally get in, the server crashes. No game for me.

I respect dedicated servers, but seriously, when I'm just trying to find a fun match to play, I prefer matchmaking much more. I couldn't care less about the community or mods. Those things fill up my hard drive with useless sound effects and junk anyway.

Almost every time I try to play a PC Game, it takes me about five to ten minutes or even way more like this situation in order to update my server list, then manually click back and forth to get into a server.

The only clear advantage I see of dedicated servers are 24/7 maps and your choice of what maps you want to play. But other than that, I couldn't care less.

Your opinion??

plz, I don't want a flame war, I just want a good PC gamer or console gamers opinion on this 30 year old system

Korean War??

OH BOY I CANT WAIT FOR THAT

Hell, 70% of America doesn't even know what the Korean War was about, and even most modern Americans don't know which side is communist and capitalist.

SOUTH KOREA ARE THE "GOOD GUYS"

Seeing how Call of Duty 4 basically educated 97% of America's teenagers about the names of guns for the first time, a game based on the Korean War would HIGHLY educate everyone for the greater good.

All of my grandparents fought in the war. I wish my other grandfather was alive to see such a game. I wonder what his reaction would be. My other Korean War veteran grandfather still lives, I wish a game comes out in time for him to still see it while he's still alive.

They're hecka effective, as well as basically every piece of equipment in this whole game. I really can't think of nothing that is useless. Everything is plain useful depending on the way you wield it.

Oh, and killing unreal people in a fake airport during a made-up war doesn't bother me.

You were briefed that this takes place in Moscow, Russia. There's freaking Russian flags up there, and the people looked more Russian that American. Plus the FSB attacked you, Makarov said "No Russian", and the whole Russian U.S war started because Allen's body.

While this was fun and all, I thought it was incredibly unrealistic that a country could get a whole army on to the main land of the United States. Not even to mention D.C.

It's plausible that after a large defensive battle an army could eventually push into the U.S. but the Russians essentially rolled on in. I don't think that's how a country, especially Russia would retaliate either. Ahh, who knows?

Then again, It's just a video game.

Well the only way the Russian succeeded in launching a surprise attack was because Sheperd was planning this invasion in the first place. The Russians hacked the ACS module? Some sort of U.S central command, and were able to control U.S Predator Drones, sneak under radar, and divert past America's heavy defenses.

I was pretty unconvinced still.

More than that, the anti-air defenses in D.C. got me thinking about what sort of air defenses America has in case of a true aerial invasion. I don't really see any anti-aircraft turrets or guns in my suburban city. I guess air defense is primarily a role that our super powerful fighters take care of.

In South Korea, you see military fortifications blending in with normal peacetime life. I saw guard towers on the countryside roadways near the DMZ (my grandpa lives in a farm right across the road from an MP station, almost got caught holding an M16 BB gun that looks real) and emergency loudspeakers integrated in Seoul, the capital city. I wonder what kind of defenses America has in case of war.

Okay I agree, Modern Warfare may not be beautiful in your eyes, yet beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

It's realistic and colorful, it looks like real life. And that's what MW2 was going for.

My best friend got his Xbox 360 banned, he didn't pirate games or anything, he just hacked the 360 for extra functionality.

However he's now going to buy another Xbox 360, possibly part of Microsoft's plan to get another wave of huge profits from 1 million devoted gamers who were willing to mod a 360.

He's going to be a PC Gamer for 2 weeks now.
