fun fact: Humans themselves probably are aliens because we are most likely not the first lifeform to exist if aliens do exist.

You have disappointed me greatly on this day.
Title character limit wouldn't let me put the full title in.
back on topic? why do you people say the amityville movies suck? i've though they were good.

huh?
(sorry for grammarless title)
but really, on imbd these movies get less than 5's. I for one think they are pretty good horror movies. has anybody ever seen the amiteville series?

Key word you used yourself.
We're all fucking hypocrites about something man. I'm sure you yourself are if you just stop to think about it for a second.
I don't eat, but I also hate people who preach about not eating meat like smug tossers. If someone wants to eat meat in front of me I don't know. Its their choice, not mine.
I guess I should probably start feeling guilty about the fact that when I walk past a bush or tree I will generally pull off a leaf or two to shred with my hands?
The reason I used "some" is because some people are just veges because they don't like meat, they don't like the taste of it etc.
hard core vegs that don't eat it for the moraility are indeed hypocrites. when you eat a plant, you are killing it. you are taking it's energy and assimilating it into your own body and if you try to stay away from both, you die off because you need energy from from one or the other.
It is indeed sad that humans have to kill other things and hinder their progress as a species but we don't control it as of yet. Mother nature does and mother nature deticates that we need to assimilate another being's energy whether is it a plant, animal etc.
and why would you shred a leave mindlessly? that would indeed make you a hypocrite.
You know how some of them say. " we don't eat meat because it harms living beings" well, guess what, plants are living things too, and they very well may have some state of consiousness like ourselves. maybe not as advanced us but there is a state like that for them, and when you spray pesticides over them that's like factory farmed animals. i'm sure you wouldn't like being sprayed with chemicals.
So that's why I think some vegeterians are hypocrites. Do you think that some of them are hypocrites, NG?

I wasn't talking about karma, I was just talking about gaining consciousness randomaly in general.

Then how we do get a consciousness in the first place anyway? who's to say the process can't happen and we assemble an entirely new one?

But if you can't remember your previous ones, what's the point in multiple consciences anyway? But who knows.
I don't think there might be a point to that. I'm just saying if it would be possible to have multiple consciousness over the lifespan of the universe.
Say you die, your body decomposes and all the atoms become one with the earth, eventually, they somehow go out of orbit into space, and drift through the universe for 2 million years and eventually reach some alien planet that is just at the dawn of civilization. the atoms form and form and form and eventually, with maybe give or take a few extra new atoms. The consciousness is taken onto a different form, you can't remember anything but you have a different consciousness . The reason why I think this MIGHT happen is because if it does it the first time, who's to say it can't happen again? who's to say we weren't all once different assembled bodies from across the universe?
At 8/25/12 06:04 PM, KittehAnims wrote: Consciousness is not energy. Your brain needs energy to run, obviously. So this energy allows your brain to perceive the world and allows you to have what we see as "consciousness". It's true that energy can't be created or destroyed. When you die, you decompose. When decomposing, all the energy that your body held is basically redistributed to the environment. The biological components that you were made up of become part of something else, but there's no way you can be "reassembled" into something else and share the same conscience as it. I don't think that's the way that religious reincarnation is supposed to work. This is when the term "soul" starts getting thrown around a lot.
Even if you don't remember it, is it possible to gain new consciousness over the course of the universe? or do you only get 1 that was a fluke and then become one with the environment for the rest of the time span.

consciousness is energy, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, so what happens to it?
so do you think when you die something special like your atoms eventually assemble again to be another lifeform or what? what do you think happens to your conscious when you die? NG? i'm curious to see your opinion.

However, I do concede that it is a semi popular show, and I do wonder why they stopped showing it.
Mainly because Adult Swim's audience is full of children who can't find the humor in satire, and turn to shows like children's hospitle and whatever the hell that show with the guys doing random shit (both of them)

It should be up to the parents to override this, but the default should be the way it is right now which is blocking this content from children who don't fully understand what's going on.At 8/23/12 10:50 PM, EmmaVolt wrote:Again, they are taught about Sex around the 4th grade but years later, say, in 12 grade they cannot watch a movie with 1 or 2 sex scenes in it as an example of "how to make a good movie" class because of movie age-restrictions.At 8/23/12 10:47 PM, GrizzlyOne wrote: Is society trying to demneer Sex as a bad thing? what is puzzling me is the fact that sex, the natural process that created every one of us is getting deemed " too bad for kids!" yet violence which harms living things is perfectly alright and totally preserves their "innocence"
That's because society teaches them it's wrong, Violence is accepted as wrong? Then tell me why a certain Japanese show about a boy catching animals and fighting other animals like in a cock-fight is only restricted to people 7 and up? While a natural process is frowned upon? also, I have seen my parents have intercourse several times before "9th grade" I was not traumatized any way, whatsoever.

Again, they are taught about Sex around the 4th grade but years later, say, in 12 grade they cannot watch a movie with 1 or 2 sex scenes in it as an example of "how to make a good movie" class because of movie age-restrictions.

In my school I wanted to show a drama movie that was pretty good but then I realized that since it's rated "r" (age restricted to 18) we can't see it even though we can mentally handle it, the reason being is because it has sex scenes. Now what makes me not understand this is it's perfectly fine to include violence in movies and only restrict to "G" "PG". Is society trying to demneer Sex as a bad thing? Why? It is a natural process. what isn't natural is watching a PG-13 movie with somebody shooting a human made bullet through somebody causing gore but we can't watch a movie because of a natural process even though it was perfectly fine watching it in sex ed, but we apparently don't have the mentality to handle years later when watching an "age-restricted movie" because of said sex scenes. what puzzles me more is the fact that if it's animated it's cut some slack. Take Family Guy, it has sex jokes and sex scenes all the time, but they are all allowed to get away with it just because it's animated. It shouldn't be if it's portraying something like that that happens in real life that is age-restricted. Shows like Family Guy uses sex usually for nothing more than cheesy, really immature jokes yet it only gets a tv-14 rating., when movies that use that theme to help tell an actually intelligible story get throned with this "R" rating?
What is your opinion on the movie-rating system NG?
who is the masked man? are you talking about naruto's teacher?
i haven't watched naruto lately.... also, who is obito?

why
I didn't realize that looking at various types of porn for free money was bad.
so in English II class today, there was this senior there who was making up the class and was sitting down. i mentioned "half life" and he was a pretty big valve fan and asked me if I played it, I said "yah, i played it, it was ok but not awesome." or something like that and he told me "did you play the 2nd one?" and i said "yah, i played both of them" and he said "there were four of them" and i said" eh, i don't really like paying 10 bucks for 5 hours of gameplay for the episodes." he then says " its better than spending 60 bucks for 8 hours." he is now assuming I spend money on the new CoD every year even though I don't. Later, we meet again in the library with a girl gamer. I read the sign on the computers saying " no games allowed" and they were joking around with it and eventually, all three of us got into a gaming conversation again where the kid I made a little mad said " Do you play Portal? it's amazing." I said "no, I don't really get Portal." and he said " You are NOT a true gamer if you haven't played Portal and he shoved his hand close to my face kind of snooty-like,.
lol, i didn't know whee to post this, but since this is just my day I put it in the general section.
How's your day, NG.
