Guess you have a point. However, it seems like a booming country with a very large growing population. There's definitely poverty there too, and it has a somewhat backwards way of living I'm sure.

It used to have a booming expat population. That boom is now over and we're beginning to see an en masse exodus of all the talent within the region.

When they go, this place is fucked. The Emiratis (local population) know jack shit about running successful multinations or actually, work in general. They're spoiled little babies.

If you want to understand the UAE (esp. Dubai), you should read an article that was posted in Vanity Fair a few months ago. I would link to it but it's also blocked here.
